CAIR's Jewish Bedfellows

CAIR's Jewish Bedfellows

The item I posted earlier on the Friends of Terror USA Tour prompted an email from a reader. Seems that some foggy-brained Jewish folks, participating in a program dreamed up by -- of course -- Arthur Waskow, have climbed into bed with the notorious Council on American-Islamic Relations.

See this article, proudly reproduced on the CAIR Florida website. Also this, in Denver.

Waskow, who had previously pushed a moronic program to replant olive trees hiding Palestinian terrorists, started up a Muslim-Jewish program based on what he called the "October Surprise" -- the fact that that Ramadan and the High Holidays are taking place at the same time. He calls it "an opportunity to find peace and reconciliation."

Well, guess what Artie? Surprise! You've pushed some foggy-headed Jews under the sheets with some pretty noxious characters, as pointed out several times by Daniel Pipes. See this item from his web log, which includes a reference to the CAIR Tampa chapter so warmly embraced as a result of Waskow's dimwitted program.

Note also what Pipes describes as CAIR's "terrorist associations and other legal tribulations," which he described here.

Way to go, Artie Waskow! You've done it again.

Your catalog of Jewish fellow travelers of CAIR should include David Frum, who praised the organization to settle its libel lawsuit against him.

Being a peaceful Jew myself, I find that this gesture is heart warming. Joe, I think you should not let your hatred overcome you because it's not the sensible way for us to approach peace. How long must the innocent blood of Israelis and Palestinians be shed for us to come to a mutual understanding? Why must we foster hatred instead of peace Joe, why?

I say, bravo to them both.

Muslims And Jews See A Chance For Goodwill

But Ahmed Bedier and Kate Fagan have something in common today: They're both observing the holiest time on their respective faith calendars, with Monday's sunset onset of the month of Ramadan and the Jewish High Holy Days.

The last time this unusual religious confluence occurred was in the 1970s, when the observances fell at the same time for three consecutive years beginning in 1973. Their timing is based on two different lunar calendars: Muslims are marking the year 1426, while in the Jewish calendar, which combines the sun and moon, it is year 5766.
