Christian Zionists Protest Sabeel Denver Conference

Christian Zionists Protest Sabeel Denver Conference

by Jerry Gordon, a former U.S. Military Intelligence officer, writer and activist who resides in Connecticut

When I posted the news release from Brigitte Gabriel of American of Congress for Truth (ACT) about her questioning the program of the Sabeel Denver Conference at the Mountview Presbyterian Church this weekend, I didn't know what might occur. We were told that the local Denver Jewish Federation decided to take a low profile, and it was the shabbat in the midst of sukkot.

Yesterday, I spoke with an ACT member, Michael Gale, a leader of a Charismatic Christian Zionist congregation in Greely, Colorado-an hour from metro Denver. Gale's congregation of 100 families flies both American and Israeli flags and specializes in Jewish music and Israeli dancing. They have even performed in Israel. They also celebrate sukkot and other Jewish festivals. Unfortunately, the congregation has been the subject of hate crimes because of their unique profession of faith and support of Israel and the Jewish people.

Gale told me late yesterday that they were planning on rallying today outside of the Mountview Presbyterian Church at Noon today in Denver.

This is Gale's stunning report of what transpired. It's safe to say that a minor epiphany happened in Denver. One which Anglcan Canon Naim Ateek and his followers of the dark prism of his alleged ecumenical liberation theology and hatred of Israel will not long forget.

Here is Gale's amazing report.

Update on Protest of Sabeel Conference in Denver

"We had 24 people show up to protest the Sabeel conference. We had about a dozen Israeli flags and a couple American flags. We also had printed handouts from the ACT website and some signs.

The protest went pretty well considering this is not what we normally do. Our expertise is in teaching Biblical Zionism in churches and public festivals, etc. However, we are not afraid to engage in the political arena and we did engage today.

We spoke with many of the conference participants on the sidewalk out in front of the church. Some of the discussions were civil and some were not. We presented our side (God and Israel's side) of the story.

The most heated confrontations:

One conference person came running out of the church and came up to me and shouted Get the F--- out of here! Now! I said we were on a public sidewalk and we have the right to free speech and he stormed back inside. I never saw him again.

One of the Sabeel Palestinians got into a heated argument with us on some issues. He said that he was a son of Abraham and a Christian and therefore he is Israel and that God has promised the land to him. We countered with various verses and then he told us that Samson was the first suicide bomber! He used the story of Samson to justify suicide bombing! I told him that you can use that justification if you want but there is no way we will ever equate Samson with suicide bombing. He went back inside.

More civil conversations:

The conversations with the other conference attendees were much more civil. We simple told them that we were with ACT and we are here to support Israel and the Jewish people. We explained to many of the Presbyterians that the Palestinians problems were not Israel's fault. Their problems were caused by radical Islam and the PA.

Some of them asked us what we thought of Christian Zionism. We had opportunity to teach a side that most of them had never heard before. We told them that God is a Zionist. God chose Zion - we didn't - the Jewish people didn't - God did. If they have a problem with Zionism then they need to talk to the living God - they need to explain their problem to Him.

I do not know how much good we did. I do know that Sabeel is aware that they do not have free reign in this area anymore. I also know that the Word of God is exceedingly powerful and never ever returns void. It always makes a difference!

We ended with some powerful prayer out in front of the church. We prayed for Israel, the conference participants, and the Palestinians. We prayed for God to bless Israel, we prayed that God would not allow the lies in the conference to take root or bear fruit. We prayed for God to have mercy on the Palestinians and deliver them from Islam and hatred. We prayed for the Prince of Peace to establish the True Peace in the hearts of the Palestinians. That is God's Peace Plan.

We then sang Hatikva under the Israeli flags and blew one long blast on the shofar.

I dismissed the group at about 1:30 PM.

Shalom

Michael Gale"

SABEEL is a very dangeous group, as they operate under the guise of being goo "Christians" however, they are under the influcnece of radical Islam, and people who want to see the demise of the state of Israel. I am sure there are many people who go to this seminar under the pretext of doing good for peole they beleive to be vitims, however, once inside, the propaganda will only make them haters of Jews and Israel. Naim Ateek,, Ali Abunimah, Marc Ellis, are all horrifying, and slick. We need to let them know that we are watching them, and we will not leave them alone.

Kol Hakoved Michael Gale.

Samson was the first suicide bomber? Did the Phillistines build their pillars with explosive ordnance in them?

The Phillistines practiced torture when they blinded Samson. Delilah had a long rap sheet of assisting in crimes.
