Condemnation for Iran

Condemnation for Iran

Today, the Australian Prime Minister, John Howard, has openly called for the president of Iran to be referred to the UN for his outrageous comments declaring that Israel should be wiped off the face of the earth. His unequivocal condemnation joins now the rising chorus of voices, which includes Canada, and is underlining the fact that Iran is a clear and present danger to world peace.

There is no way that this rogue country can be allowed to get anywhere near nuclear technology, even for peaceful purposes. The time is going to come, I believe sooner rather than later, that this fundamentalist government is going to have to go the way of the Taliban.

I believe that there would be a large slice of the Iranian population who secretly are very much against the Islamist government. Certainly, this would be far more common amongst the 50 plus year olds, who clearly remember life under the Shah (for all his faults). In fact at the time of the Islamic revolution I was working with an exchange Iranian student who was forced to return having left prior to Khomeini and whose visa ran out after the take over by that vicious old man. he absolutely dreaded the prospect.

Tell the Australian Prime Minister,
You definitely need a major brain operation. Have it in a Moslem country as it might help changing your evil mind that is trying to spread the seeds of hatred and viciousness amongst people of different religions. You cheap thing.
How much are you earning out of writing such dangerous and hateful crap? I bet all you know and see in your life is getting to the point where your masters America dn Isreal attack Iran and other Moslem countries. Well done for proving how blood-thirsty and rootless you are.
You talk about the actions of the Iranian government and you close your blind eyes on the bloody dark record of US, Britain and Isreal throughout the world with murdering innocents, killing cultures with the western sick culture and the ongoing evil policies of these government. How dare you talk about any religion whether it be Islam, or anything else? I am no supporter of any religiong, government or ideology but am quite sure about one thing and that is as long as idiots like you are given freedom to write such craps, innocent families like mine who live in Iran are in danger and at risk of what you cheap rootless person create in the mind of many people.

Assalam u alaikum Kaveh,

Egypt is a Muslim country and the United States is sending every year about $US 2 billion. There would be actual starvation and violence without the US contribution. This is at a time when many Americans have inadequate health care.

Similiar circumstances apply to Turkey and Indonesia, both being Muslim populated nations.

The new Islamic government of Iran has left the community of nations and is again dealing in barbaric violence.

Muslims in Oman and the Emirates disagree with you.

Kol tuv, all the best.

Were Israel to take out nuke sites in Iran, they now can justifyh this by showing that Iran has called for Israel\'s elimination. First strike, as Bush has announc;ed when a viable threat is made.

John Howard's comments are completely irrelevant and will not have any effect on how the U.S. and Israel decide to handle Iran as a global threat. Iran will continue to develop its nuclear capability, and it has every right to given the history of the United States' policy in the region. The U.S.'s "balance of power" policy which led them to fund Saddam's army which ultimately caused the death of millions of Iranians will always be remembered in Iran. Also, America's lopsided support for Israel irrespective of America's interests and the interests of the region at large are what cause comments such as those of the president of Iran. America's policy prior to the Islamic Revolution in Iran was not exactly ethical- in fact, it can be argued that America's role in Iran was a main driver behind the events leading to the Islamic Revolution and the reemergence of the ideas behind the Islamic Republic. Iran was forced to develop itself DESPITE America's clear efforts to destroy it. It is almost comical to hear the U.S. and Israel whine over Iran's nuclear ambitions, and use Islam as an excuse to destroy Iran's nuclear capability.

Kaveh, first, learn how to spell "Israel." (Of course, your error tells me what kinds of sites you usually visit, as the loony anti-Semites just can't spell "Israel" correctly.) Second, at least learn the RUDIMENTS of democracy. Repeat after me, "John Howard, just like any Austrailian citizen, does have the freedom to speak his mind, even if I, Kaveh, don't like what he says." Frankly, I'm not sure why you should object to his right to speak out, given that you seem to think you have the same right. Third, while anything you say in favor of the mullahs cannot be taken at face value (because you live in a police state), if you are taken seriously, you have shown that you and your family are not "innocent." Rather, you actively collaborate with a regime of consummate visciousness.

John, I happen to agree that the US was largely at fault for Khomeini's revolution. Specifically, Carter was at fault for not destroying that leadership the moment the US embassy (US property) was seized by "students." As for millions of people being killed in the Iraq-Iran war, that, I believe, had something to do with Saddam Hussein and Khomeini. Darn right: it was in the US's interests to prevent Iran from taking over Iraq. US support did not allow Hussein to win; rather it allowed him not to lose. This was sqauarely in America's interest. If you didn't hate Israel so much, you might have figured that out.

Kaveh, you clearly did not read this post. No one is criticising Islam or genuine Muslims who believe in the the word "Islam" which, as I understand it means "peace". Also had you read it carefully, you would realise that what was said referred to the GOVERNMENT of Iran.
I am not an American or a Canadian, and I too believe that America has made some grave mistakes in the region.
Israel and the Jewish people who came a very long time BEFORE the prophet, owned, own, and have every right to the land of Israel, and Islam has absolutely no claim over any single millimeter of it. The Al Aqsa mosque is a desecration of holy Jewish land and is NOT "the far mosque" claimed in the Koran. In fact, Jerusalem is not even mentioned once in the Koran.
Hate is ridiculous Ishmael was a son to Avraham or father of the Jewish people. Learn NOT to hate your brothers so much!!!

Hurrah for John Howard for the courage of his remarks. The Islamo-fascist regime in Iran was condemned today by Toni Blair Pres of the EU who expressed his "revulsion" of the Iranian Presidents remarks. Canada, Spain ,USA and Germany have also condemned it. This evil regime has now been exposed to the World in its true colours. They are about to acquire nuclear weapons capability to threaten the region with. Now is the time for all free nations to unite with decisive action to contain the threat. Referral to the UN of this rogue State should be followed with expulsion and sanctions. We need to encourage and enable opposition forces within the country to overthrow this vile regime. The people need to be kept informed as to the true nature and damage to their country that has been caused by the medieval clerics that have been running their country.Military force as a last option should not be ruled out. He who plays with fire shall surely get burnt.

To Bob W, you are right on the money.! Rajiv Singh, i agree with all the historical info' you wrote but not the first paragraph. Islam has never been and is not currently a religion of peace, whatever the word "islam" means. It is a dark evil, controlling, subjugating, hating, intolerant creed which will continue to grow and spread until we, decide otherwise. For a man to be called "prophet" and have millions of followers, he should have set an example of goodness, tolerance, etc. and not consistenly practised brutality, rape, pillage and overall murder/subjugation of anyone who did not follow him as a way of life. He also married multiple wives throughout his life including Aisha .......an 8 year old girl.!
