Words Are Dangerous; Actions are Deadly

Words Are Dangerous; Actions are Deadly

by Arlene Bridges-Samuels, media liason, FrontPage Jerusalem

The US and the EU are critically outspoken about a statement made this week by Iranian President Ahmadinejad that Israel should be “wiped off the map.” It is instructive to note the outcry against the Iranian President’s WORDS when the world goes almost mute when Palestinian terrorists MURDER Jewish Israeli civilians in Israel. Indeed, words are dangerous, but actions are deadly.

The British are calling the Iranian ambassador on the carpet to complain. The Germans are upset along with the Canadians and the Spanish. How kind of these nations to condemn Iran. (Read sarcasm into my words) Actually, I commend the Iranian President. He is, at least, honest and forthright about his anti-Semitism. Palestinians are still playing charades along with other Arab nations pretending they want to cooperate with Israel, when in fact, they hate the Jewish people and the Jewish state every bit as much as Ahmadinejad . Shimon Peres, Israel’s Vice Prime Minister wants the UN to remove Iran from the UN saying, “Since the United Nations was established in 1945, there has never been a head of state that is a U.N. member state that publicly called for the elimination of another U.N. member state." Peres went on to say that “there is no place in the world body for such a country.” Of course, Peres is quite anxious for the Palestinians to have a state and would probably welcome the terrorists right into the front aisle of the UN when they finally become a state. It’s a strange, upside-down world.

I guess the Palestinians get a “pass go” card because they murder Jews one or a dozen at a time rather than publicly calling for Israel to be wiped off the earth. Of course, in the Palestinian media, anti-Israel hate rhetoric is the usual fare. Iran is absolutely a threat to Israel but the Palestinians are the ones who are already killing the Jewish people. Like I said, words are dangerous but actions are deadly. Why all the surprise and outrage against Iran and not Palestinians? Could someone answer this question for me? Seriously.

Arlene, part of the answer is in my earlier post today. The nub of it is that so long as Iran posed only a clear and present danger to Israel, the world was not too concerned.

Over the last year, Iran's nuclear ambitions have caused growing concen amongst a great many nations and they are clearly frightened. That has prompted numerous U.N. resolutions and ultimatums to Iran, none of which had any teeth, probably out of fear that Iran is a loose cannon and to be more aggressive would release the insane beast into the entire world. Iran, seeing the fear of the West and its reluctance to take any tough stands, has been openly contemptuous of the U.N. and the nations that are now fearful.

In my view, the frightened U.N. was looking for some reason to get tougher and Ahmadinejad's speech about wiping Israel off the map was the pretext or the stumbled onto reason to arouse a united condemnation of Iran.

As pointed out, Iran is now trying to backtrack a bit.

Unlike Iran however, the Palestinians threaten no one but Israel, so the world just has no empathy with Israel. Instead, left wing ideologies, combined with Jew hatred and world powers being tied into an oil based economy, not to mention the far greater advantages to market goods to 500 million Arabs as opposed to 5 million Jews in Israel and other reasons, the world, led by America wants the underdog Palestinians to make a state out of the rock pile of Gaza and the West Bank and are willing to pay the real price for that, which is not the billions the world contribute to Palestinians, but the sacrifices of land, interest and position that Israel is being forced to make. One of those sacrifices is also the Israeli blood spilled along the way.

As difficult as it is to accept and as angry as it might make you, its really not that hard to understand what's going on.

Iran is not trying to backtrack from its threats to wipe Israel of the Map - far from it the threat have been reiterated in a Million strong demonstration and I refer your readers to the English version of IRNA Islamic Republic News Agency and Irans 8 point resolution on Quods Day (Jerusalem Day) that calls upon" all muslims and noble nations to annihilate that rotten cancerous zionist gland from mankind" a threat very similar to that made by a certain Austrian Corporal 67 years previously to wipe out the Jews. Iran is expected very shortly to have the nuclear means to try to achieve this. A collective international response against this evil Islamo-fascist regime is required.
