After the destruction of the Second Temple two thousand plus years ago by the Romans, the dying embers contained a spark, the Torah, which Rabbinic Judaism would incubate and nurture until it bore tangible fruit in the founding of the State of Israel.
The defeat of the last of the Jewish holdouts on Masada two thousand minus years ago by the Romans also left a spark in the form of seeds which have also been incubated and nurtured and are now soon to bear fruit.

Scientists misnamed this plant Methusala. It should have been named "Israel"
