Another story of Leftist Jews hurting Israel

Another story of Leftist Jews hurting Israel

Pathetic. Truly pathetic and sad. I can't begin to express my dismay at this and many other behaviors of the American Jewish Left (the same group of Jews doting on the NY Times). To blame Israel because of the settlements, and far worse, to go talk to Condi to apply pressure...like Israel doesn't have enough problems...this is truly "the enemy from within".

Note the sickening chutzpah of the last paragraph. Mr. Reich doesn't presume his group's tactics didn't get Ms. Rice to come up with her dangerous plan, but they wouldn't mind taking credit for her. And if so, then any deaths that result from it are partly on their heads.

N.Y. Jewish leaders lobby Rice on Gaza Strip border deal

New York Jewish leaders encouraged U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to intervene aggressively in the Israeli-Palestinian dispute over the Gaza border crossings, telling her this would gain the support of American Jews, according to sources affiliated with the community's liberal wing.

In particular, the sources said, they urged her to take a tough line against Israel, especially on issues such as a settlement freeze and dismantling illegal settlement outposts. The sources said several leading New York Jews held talks with Rice recently at which these issues, as well as the impasse over the border crossings, were discussed.

However, they also urged her to press the Palestinian Authority to meet its commitment to fight terror.

Among others, Rice met in Washington earlier this month with the heads of the left-wing Israel Policy Forum, who expressed their views on various aspects of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict...

"The U.S. should embark on these steps immediately and vigorously. The three steps are interrelated. The success or failure of one will impact on the success or failure of the others. The program presented will allow the United States to help build and reinforce the first section of the bridge that began with this summer's disengagement and must end with the viable and realistic two-state solution," according to the IPF policy paper entitled "Building a Bridge from Disengagement to Two States."

"The three steps that should be implemented in tandem, rather than in sequence, are as follows: Unambiguous and effective efforts by the PA to control terror and prevent attacks on Israelis; an Israeli freeze on extending existing settlements, including roads and other associated infrastructure, and removal of unauthorized settlement outposts; and efforts to help grow the Palestinian economy so the Palestinian Authority can provide jobs and basic services for Palestinians. This effort would help strengthen the PA's position among the various Palestinian factions, including Hamas."

IPF President Seymour Reich, who participated in the meeting with Rice, told Haaretz, "We don't presume to say that it was because of our conversation with the secretary of state, or the political paper we sent her, that she acted so aggressively to achieve the border crossing
agreement."

The expression, 'with friends like these, who needs enemies' comes to mind.

Who appointed these left wing New York Jews to speak for anyone? Theirs' is the chutzpah of arrogant pseudo intellectual fools. Even more disgusting is that Jews who know better, are letting these idiots speak for them.

We should use a couple of specific terms to refer to these enemies within.

DHIMMIs = Dupes, Helpful Idiots, and Misguided Morons for Islamofascism. The above Jews are DHIMMIs.

Outright traitors are Ganelons, after the traitor of Roncesvalles. As an example, Adam Shapiro of the ISM is a Ganelon. ("Ganelon" has the same meaning as Judas, Quisling, and Benedict Arnold.)

3. A Time to Speak said:

Israel Zangwill, the Victorian British Jewish novelist, coined a phrase
"League of Trembling Israelites".

They are descended from the Israelites who complained to Moses that they should have stayed in Egypt.

That is, they prefer the false security of submission to the hazards of independance.

Mordecai knew better, when he warned Esther "Think not that you will be safe in the King's House."

The Reich-types will always pander to the "powerful" -- still trembling even when they are as well off as the Jews of America. And they will earn only the contempt their pandering deserves.

When was the last time that the Arabs fulfilled their part of any agreement?

It always ends up that the Israelis fulfill their part, the Palestinians ignore their part, and then complain that Israel is being too restrictive.

Then we get people like Dr. Rice who just want another notch on her gun, so she pressures the only group that ever participates in peace, the Israelis.

When will we learn that it is time for us (Israel/Jews) to make place some heavy demands of compliance at the doorstep of the Palestinians and see how quickly that fails.

As I said previously, there should be no discussion of the status of the West Bank until Gaza is a peaceful and prosperous area that no longer exports violence! Don't we have the guts to say this and stand behind our decisions?

Re: Jeffrey Levine's comment: Israel is already within its rights to end the "peace process," roll its tanks into Gaza, and expel the parasites therein. The Palestinians, upon being given autonomy in Gaza, proved within weeks that they cannot be trusted to keep peace agreements or refrain from terrorism. They had their chance and they blew it, as far as I am concerned. http://www.omdurman.org/leaflets/pali_word.html (warning, slightly off-color) for the value of a Palestinian's word of honor. http://www.omdurman.org/tpb.html for Typical Palestinian Behavior as practiced in Gaza (destruction of greenhouses, for example).

I am a recent convert to Judaism but I have well educated myself on the politics of Israel and the Arabs for some years prior to my spiritual conversion.

Since I have somewhat of a fresh view of the Arab-Israeli conflict, I have come to the conclusion that since the founding of Israel, the Israeli left has developed a co-dependent relationship with the Arabs (who along with the EU who would be very pleased if Israel did not exist at all) is similar to that of the alcoholic-abuser's wife who because for so many years of taking the abuse and being told that it's all her fault because she is being beaten is finally brainwashed into finally believing her guilt and lets her life be led into submissive self destruction. I for one think it's a G-d-Damned shame!

Claudette - You are on the right track. You just have to look at the absence of an Arab/Palestinian peace movement. There's alot of wishful thinking in Israel - although it has little credibility nowadays - that somehow if we just gave the Arabs what they want they would leave us alone and there would be peaceful co-existence. Peace Now and all the projects and charities tend to be Jewish iniatives. If an Arab is brave enough to put his head above the parapet and even suggest normalisation of relations like Sadat - then he is murdered and labelled a collaborator. The arab population in Israel has multiplied and grown. Arab regions including Gaza become Juden Rein (free of Jews) and Synagogues are set ablaze. The reality is that the Palestinians do not tolerate any Jewish presence in Israel.

Already in france, some Muslims do not tolerate the presence of Infidels in some areas deemed to be part of the Caliphate.
The old saying Jews (Israelis) first, then Christians will follow is beginning to materialize.
Bush's handmaiden is doing his dirty work of appeasing the Saudis by bashing the Jews. It is the same neverending story. perhaps now the oil prices will come down again as they did when europe turned against Israel in the seventies.
One wonders if Jews like Reich, would if there was an Israeli holocaust. be amongst those calling for the refusal of israeli Immigrants into the US.
