I've worked in overseas areas where a "black" did not refer to anyone with a light skin complexion-although in the US, this same person would be considered black.

Ethnic Scandinavian Muslims are not that readily identified with Islam.

One reason Daniel Pipes catches "static" from many different sides is because his approach is outside the experience or beliefs of his various audiences.
