The logic behind Israel's (non) response to terror...Trackback PingsTrackBack URL for this entry: Comments
Not just Israel's non-response to terrorists, nor that of France (which is also ridiculous), but the US in Iraq. Iran's proxies in Iraq-- Sadr's Madhi Army and the Badr Brigades-- are gradually taking over the country's resources and effectively handing over control of Iraq to Iran. And what are Bush, Condi Rice and the rest of the idiots in Iraq doing to confront Sadr and the Badr Brigades? Nothing, absolutely f&%^ing nothing. Now that Iran's President has basically declared his desire to annihilate Israel, the US should be pulling out all the stops to break the power of the Iran-allied Shiite militias in Iraq. But instead, the troops just sit there and let the Shiite militias seize control. And we're spending upwards of $2 billion every damn week in Iraq, to basically hand the country over to Iran's proxies? It's been abundantly clear for a while that Condoleezza Rice utterly hates Israel and would probably like nothing more than to see Israel's destruction. Whatever her views on the Gaza settlers, she had no right to basically go calling them human trash, not after all that they had invested in the homes they had occupied for decades. Now, her supervisor (his views no doubt probably affected by Rice's anti-Israel hatred) is effectively becoming complicit in the plan to hand Iraq over to Iran's proxies in the country. Even Blair's British forces are wimping out and letting the same thing happen, despite facing daily hostility themselves from the Shiite militias in Basra. No doubt, the Bush Administration has become the greatest catastrophe for Israel since the Yom Kippur attack in 1973, and quite possibly much, much worse. Unless they attack and break the power of Shiite militias, the American forces in Iraq will have effectively made the Middle East a far more dangerous place for Israel, and for everybody else. The problem is that these sonic booms are targeting regular civilians, not just terrorists. Posted by: George on November 14, 2005 05:30 AM
You are right George, unlike the arab terrorists who blow to pieces regular civilians, not just soldiers. Posted by: Yarok on November 14, 2005 12:37 PM Post a comment |
The logic behind Israel's (non) response to terror...
by Ze'ev Orenstein
For the longest time, I have been trying to understand the logic behind Israel's (non) response to Arab attacks against the Jewish State.
Among the tactics that Israel has developed an affinity for has been causing sonic booms over Arab population centers in Gaza.
As a result of a petition filed against the sonic booms by Physicians for Human Rights-Israel and the Gaza Community Mental Health Program, the State of Israel had to explain the rationale behind its policy of non-response measures (AKA sonic booms) to the Supreme Court (courtesy of Ha'aretz):
And to think, all this time, I thought the sonic booms were meant to confuse the Jewish citizens of the State of Israel, leading them to believe that the State of Israel and the IDF were actually taking steps to fight Arab terror.
