A Religious Jew Who Loves Christmas

A Religious Jew Who Loves Christmas

By Irwin N. Graulich, MichNews.com

Last year, my article, "Why This Jew Loves Christmas" was featured on more than 100 websites worldwide. It was discussed on radio, tv and other media, resulting in over 1000 overwhelmingly positive emails from Christians, Jews, and other religious/non religious individuals throughout the world. In this beautiful holiday spirit, I have decided to make this an annual effort, updating my thoughts to celebrate the Christian gift of Christmas to the world. Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah to all!--ING

If I hear the words, "Happy Holiday," just one more time, I am going to puke. Removing Christmas from Christmas in the interest of inclusiveness, tolerance and sensitivity, is a criminal act.

I am a deeply committed, religious Jew who simply loves Christmas. In fact, any Jew or non Christian who gets "offended" because 90% of Americans make such a public splash about their most important holiday is a selfish pig.

The incredible connection between American Christianity and Judaism is a deep one, resulting in the Judeo-Christian moral code upon which all of Western morality is based. It was the greatest Jewish thinker in history, Maimonides, who said that while Jews brought the Bible/Torah into the world, it is Christians who spread the idea of one moral God to much of mankind. Kol Hakovod Irwin Graulich !

A great article!

If I have a choice between a copy of the New York Magazine's article "The Superior Intelligent Jewish Brain" or some plastic flamingos for my lawn, I'll take a copy of the Christmas editon of Victoria's Secret catalog.

A little early, but still, I wish all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I agree with this article. Even if Jews do not agree that Jesus was the son of God, he was definitely a teacher and philosopher whose works changed the world for the better. I have no problem with celebrating his birth.

Not this phony "war on Christmas" BS again. I told you it doesn't exist and that people have been saying "happy holidays" for years and it was never an issue in the past.

This "war" is an invention of FOX news done for the purpose of creating discord amongst Americans. I urge you to read this from a former FOX news channel producer.

Gene, how do you conclude that Laura hates Christians? Please elaborate. I'll bet you're totally wrong.

Shyguy, Gene IS totally wrong. But that is just the kind of diversionary tactics that many on the right use these days when they can't debate the issue, they attack the character of the person instead of dealing with the substance of the argument at hand. If you criticize Bush or any aspect of his handling of the Iraq war, you hate America, if I point out there is no war on Christmas and actually present evidence that the whole thing has been concocted by FOX news, that makes me anti-Christian. Of course Gene didn't dispute anything I said.

Gene, nothing is wrong with Christmas and in fact I love the Christmas season, and there isn't anyone in America who wants to stop Christmas. You need to be a little more skeptical of what you hear on FOX, people who are making big bucks by dividing Americans against each other.

With all respect to Christmas - lovers.
This link might enlighten the "Judaeo-Christian" festival called Christmas.

Btw. Don't we remember late Mr. Arafat having his Christmas-mass in Catholic Church Bethlehem? Does it tell us something? Thus Christmas become a "judeo-christian-islamic" feast. Late King Ahab was a great integrator of Torah and paganism; in his footsteps shall we trot?

I'm "totally wrong" because I like Christmas? Or am I "totally wrong" for questioning your dislike of Christians? Read my original post I said "IF you hate CHristians, it doesn't mean we all do..." So when did you stop hating Christians? :P

Laura:

Are you claiming that no one started saying Merry Xmas and Happy Holidays years before there WAS a Fox News???

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

PROVE IT!!!

This has been going on for years and recently has gotten much worse with the lawsuits through the ACLU. Until the ACLU got in the middle of it most of us were willing to go along to get along, but, when that nest of Commies started attacking we got a little upset.

The fact that Fox is or is not doing something has no bearing on the fact that the PC crowd and others who aren't Christian introduced alternatives to Christmas holiday and terms as far back as the 70's.

Furthermore are you going to blame the beginnings of PCing Easter on Fox also??

Happy Kwanzaa.
