Just reread the first paragraph. I read nothing treasonous. I read nothing immense. It's common for senior figures in the US Government to operate the "back channels". If there was grave risk to the US Government there would have been consequences. If there had been more powerful political enemies there would have been consequences. Vice President Agnew ran into difficulty. Director of Central Intelligence William Colby drowned during a boating accident. Assistant FBI Director William Sullivan was killed in a hunting accident. Admiral Jerry Boorda (Jewish) commited suicide. It is difficult to believe Senator Rockefeller commited treason. Ida Tarbell had a lot of valid points ("History of the Standard Oil Company") on the creation of the fortune by John Rockefeller but treason isn't a current issue. The most important aspect of the article mentions a usually hushed up subject in the US; "(that Sen. Rockefeller, with his Standard Oil INHERITANCE,...")[caps mine for emphasis-B.W.]. I hate the use of the terms such as "leftists" but, regardless, had always associated the Rockefeller family with the rulers of America. When Sen Rockefeller went on his trip, "Iraq" had already been partitioned into a condominium hidden by the no-fly zones. As much as some French citizens were involved in the oil for food scandal, some US citizens were also. The real scandal is why the initial program was not questioned. It was known how oil is priced and manipulated because it is fungible. I do not believe that in 2003 the Bush Administration "agreed to transfer power to an interim government in 2004" regard of press releases. Commissions are for public consumption only. The real effort was the reorganization of US intelligence. The loyalty issues were addressed in the rearrangement. Appreciated reading the reference to DEBKA files. Invasion of Iraq in context
Rockefeller’s TreacheryThe Fifth Column/Joan Swirsky, The Rant
(The best rebuttle yet.)
So spoke Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) on “Fox Sunday” on November 14, 2005, who at the time of his trip was chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and is now its vice chairman.
Please read the first paragraph once again, digest it (if your stomach can handle it), and consider its immense – if not treasonous – implications.
By himself and fully armed with America’s most sensitive intelligence, Sen. Rockefeller decided to go to three Arab countries – including Syria which is on the State Department’s list of terrorist regimes and a close ally of Saddam Hussein – and literally alert them to what (“in my view”) might befall a neighboring Arab state.
This was Sen. Rockefeller’s judgment only four months after September 11th and a full year before President Bush had expressed any intention to go to war!
By its very nature, Sen. Rockefeller’s solo trip, his lofty rank on one of the senate’s most prestigious and sensitive committees, and most important his words were no doubt received for what they were – a clarion heads-up! MORE
