Open letter to Presbyterian Church USA re: Israel boycott

The following was sent to Clifton Kirkpatrick and John Detterick at the Presbyterian Church USA regarding the church's meetings with Hezbollah terrorists.

Dear Mr. Kirkpatrick and Mr. Detterick, (cc: online discussion groups)

Per http://www.adl.org/PresRele/ChJew_31/4578_31.htm, the Presbyterian Church of the USA's representatives met with Hezbollah, a Foreign Terrorist Organization as defined by the U.S. State Department.

"Elder Ronald Stone, who identified himself as representing the East Liberty Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, said, "As an elder of our church, I'd like to say that according to my recent experience, relations and conversations with Islamic leaders are a lot easier than dealings and dialogue with Jewish leaders."" (Stone is not the only one; Revs. Nile Harper and Nuhad Tomeh, as well as Robert Worley, also are on record as meeting with Hezbollah.)

I remind you, and I am reminding as many PCUSA members as possible through various Internet forums and other resources, that it wasn't "Jewish leaders" who murdered 241 United States Marines with a truck bomb in 1983. PCUSA's Hezbollah friends did that. I am further pointing out that PCUSA is but one of many Presbyterian organizations in the United States and the others do not consort with terrorists or use their influence in support of terrorists.

Although the above Web page adds,

"Following the visit by members of its Advisory Committee on Social Witness Policy with Hezbollah, the Presbyterian Church (USA) issued a statement calling the group's decision to meet with a terrorist organization "misguided." ADL welcomed the statement as an acceptable response to the controversial meeting."

ADL may consider this response acceptable but PCUSA's actions show that this is merely lip service and that Elder Stone & Co. were acting in full accordance with PCUSA's official policies. Per http://www.boycottwatch.org/abi/divest002.htm:

"...In the meantime, a vote was taken at the 216th annual General Assembly of Presbyterian Church, USA, and in a 431-62 margin, the church voted to divest from and boycott Israel in support of the Palestinian Authority and its cause."

A 431-62 vote is not the action of a few rogue individuals but rather a conscious decision to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Islamofascist terrorists, anti-Semites, and Christian-persecutors against the Western democracy that tolerates all faiths and upholds religious freedom. Until your church shows otherwise through actions (such as rescinding and apologizing without reservation for its anti-Israel boycott) and not lip service, I will continue to assume that the Hezbollah meetings are fully representative of your church's policy toward the Middle East.

You will doubtlessly be pleased to know, by the way, how your Palestinian friends are now treating Christians in Jesus' own birthplace. The Hamas terrorists who now control Bethlehem plan to institute the jizya tax on all Christians who live there. This is a tax on all dhimmis (Jewish and Christian second-class citizens) who live under Islamofascist rule. When Bethlehem was under the control of those "Jewish leaders" whom Elder Stone dislikes so much, I do not recall that Christians felt any apprehension about visiting or residing there.

Regards,

William A. Levinson

Searching their website (www.pcusa.org) reveals that my brother's and niece's church is part of this communion.

Will Mr. Levinson post (or if the responders stipulate privacy, summarize) any response he may receive on this issue?

These folks hate us jews ? do they not worship a jewish man that is dead ?
Their muslim buddies are playing them like an instrument for their own purpose.
They'll get theirs when their buddies are done with them.

Isn't it ironic how on the one hand the left-wing, ultra-secularist Jews have intermarried into the Presbyterian faith for years, despite their hostility to Israel, while acting with hostility towards Christian Conservatives who strongly support Israel and fight anti-semitism?
