The US has essentially taken Iraq and handed it over to Iran, by far the most dangerous threat to Israel's safety, by allowing the Iranian-backed Shiite militias to take over the Iraqi government and police forces. Rather than using the US's tremendous air power, heavy armor and good relations with the non-militia segment of the Iraqi security forces, the US military (the British are even worse) are just commanded to sit by and meekly watch as Iran's Badr Brigage proxies take control of Iraq, its military and its oil resources.

I used to think that this was just a result of an incredible level of screw-ups on the part of Administration officials who didn't appreciate the true threat Iran poses, but now it's looking more like many powerful members of the Administration really do hate Israel. Maybe even the neoconservatives, deep-down, want Israel to be crushed by Iran. Not even the most incompetent administration member could have screwed up so badly as to allow the Iranian militias to take control. If the US doesn't take the battle to the Shiite militias soon, the Middle East will become an even more dangerous place.
