The Shame of David('s Shield)

The Shame of David('s Shield)

It is saddening to see how desperate some Jews are to be accepted by the nations of the world (read: Goyim), and to the ridiculous lengths to which they will go to to achieve their goal...

Out of Step Jew has hit the nail on the head with yet another example of the Jewish People and State selling their birthright for less than the value of a bowl of lentil soup:

In another surrender to anti-Semitism, Israel's Magen David Adom has agreed to join the International Red Cross under a red diamond. True enough "its ambulances, buildings and staff and volunteers' uniforms will continue to bear the Red Star of David 'with pride' ", but when abroad on humanitarian missions, they will keep their identity private in case the needy don't, God forbid, agree to be helped by self-identifying Jews.

The cosmopolitan Israeli thinks that the phrase "to be smart and not right" (chacham v'lo tzodek) is the sophisticated thing to say and do: Because, they wrongly assume, no one else in the world really cares about what is right - as long as the desired material ends are met. There is nothing sadder than seeing an Israeli's face when his foreign guest is embarrassed at his snide remarks about Judaism or Israel.

In spite of Israel's newfound willingness to forgo the use of its emblem, the Star of David, in order to be accepted into the International Red Cross, the nations of the world have now found a new reason to keep the Jews out of their exclusive little club (courtesy of Ha'aretz):

Approval of a new emblem allowing Israel to join the Red Cross movement after nearly six decades of exclusion has been held up by Syria's demand that its humanitarian workers have access to the occupied Golan Heights.

So, this is what is has come to, not only must Israel forgo its emblem, but it almost must grant legitimacy to Syria's expansionist territorial claims to the Golan Heights.

Perhaps, in order to gain the love, respect and recognition of the nations of the world, we should no longer insist, within the international arena, on referring to the State of Israel as the Jewish State or to ourselves as Jews, rather we will be known simply as the State of Israel (or the Democratic State of Israel) and we will refer ourselves as Israelis of the Hebrew persuasion.

Of course, within Israel, we will continue to refer to ourselves as Jews, and to our country as the Jewish State - with unabashed "pride".

It's very simple.

Everyone who's ever contributed to MDA via it's N. American or European emmisaries should cease to do so and write in a letter saying "don't bother me again until the Magen David is placed back as the organization's symbol."

Money talks.

Boycott MDA.
