You gotta love the Marines

You gotta love the Marines

Max Strange reports

Marine Corp's General Reinwald was interviewed on the radio the other day and you have to read his reply to the lady who interviewed him concerning guns and children. Regardless of how you feel about gun laws you gotta love this!!!!

This is one of the best comeback lines of all time. It is a portion of National Public Radio (NPR) interview between a female broadcaster and US Marine Corps General Reinwald who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military installation.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: So, General Reinwald, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?

GENERAL REINWALD: We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery, and shooting.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?

GENERAL REINWALD: I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?

GENERAL REINWALD: I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: But you're equipping them to become violent killers.

GENERAL REINWALD: Well, Ma'am, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you?

The radio went silent and the interview ended.

You gotta love the Marines

(OK, so this is a hoax, you gotta love it anyways.)

No I don't love it, it's idiotic and I'm glad it's just a hoax.

Perhaps we should allow children to drink alcohol as long as we teach them to drink responsibly. And perhaps children as soon as they are tall enough should be taught to drive.

Re: "Perhaps we should allow children to drink alcohol as long as we teach them to drink responsibly." There are some countries in which this is exactly how it is done. In our country's earlier history, fathers routinely taught preteen boys how to shoot. The boy was sometimes given the chore of going out and shooting dinner for the family.

I think it would be a good idea for our high schools to teach (under responsible supervision by a shooting coach) all students how to use firearms, unless the student expressed a specific conscientious objection. This would add a layer of protection to our country's internal defenses.

Not too many Islamofascist terrorists run around in Switzerland shooting up innocent people because every Swiss man is REQUIRED to keep a rifle and ammunition in his home. I don't think the terrorists would pick rural America as a target either, noting that a raghead who opened up on innocent people would be likely to be shot dead by a passer-by (or a resident who picked up his deer rifle or shotgun). Washington DC or New York City, where people are not allowed to own handguns and even rifles are regulated, would be far more ideal for this sort of mayhem.

Also, as shown by my article at http://www.stentorian.com/2ndamend/leaflets/armed.html, armed citizens are responsible citizens. The Brady Campaign and Million Mom March (along with Hollywood and the mainstream media) probably helped cause the 9/11 disaster by conditioning Americans to behave like passive sheep. Fifty or perhaps even thirty years ago, American males would not have had to have a discussion about what to do when they saw some pieces of filth in dirty nightshirts slit female flight attendants' throats before rushing the cockpit. The able-bodied men on all four airplanes would probably have beaten the hijackers to a pulp and possibly killed them, thus saving themselves and the other innocent people involved.

I've been shooting since I was three years old (38 now).

Our dad taught us responsibility with firearms with a few simple rules that have stuck with me.

1. Always treat any firearm as if it were loaded and cocked.
2. When picking up any firearm, always check to see if it is loaded or chambered. Always check the safety. After these facts are established one way or the other, go back to rule one.
3. Firearms are not toys. If my brother or I were ever caught treating them as such we would remember the punishment for a long, long time.
4. Toy guns are a bad idea. If we were ever caught pointing even a toy gun at anyone, we would remember the punishment for a long, long time.

Dad was serious, we believed him and never broke the rules, and everything worked out just fine.

The "ultra Democrats", liberal, so called "left" have crippled America by slowly and steadily removing male and feamale American from their natural healthy behaviour.
The PC atmosphere is dominant.
This is all very good in a future more civilized world.
In today's realities, this is like spreading poison in the streets.
Unfortunately, this process has taken roots in my country (Israel) too.
