"Twelve hours later, the US consul in Jerusalem Jacob Walles visited Abu Mazen’s office in Ramallah with an oral message from President George W. Bush. According to our sources, it was a presidential guarantee that all the Palestinian parties running for election on Jan 25 would be allowed to campaign openly in East Jerusalem, eligible voters in the city would be permitted to cast their votes through local post offices, and the voter slips of all Palestinian parties without exception would be available in the balloting booths." And I asked these questions "But first in looking at the above paragraph and there is much more which I have not taxed readers with, and they can look it up themselves. I would conclude: 1. What exactly is the status of this state of Israel? 2. When a foreign government, ie the US of A can have its representatives walk into government offices and not only lay down policy but ensure that it is carried out 3. Accepting that Israel is a sovereign national state, and not just a reaction to the Holocaust 4 In those conditions where it has lost its sovereignty what is the point of Israel!? " If we do not solve this problem where a US regime can walk into a state like Israel and take sovereign decisions which according to Debkafile are done without even consulting the government then all is lost anyway. This reminds me of the interview with the American Ambassador to Yugoslavia with a Croatian newspaper (ie Ambassador Zimmerman) In the interview Zimmermann kept referring to Yugoslavian army as "the enemy forces". Zimmermann I repeat was the US ambassador to Yugoslavia!!! Need I point out that Yugoslavia did not endure... Posted by: Felix Quigley on January 14, 2006 10:29 AM

Repetion may, perhaps, get through some thick headed minsters of Israeli Government to understand that they are a sovereign country and that they don't need the US or any other country to dictate to them on just how the Israelis run their country. Even the Pals pay no attention to them. The government has the power to eliminate the Hizbollah, Hamas, Fatah and the rest of the Islamists and live in peace if they ignore the pressure put on by the US. Some may disagree with me on this; however, the US has many other larger problems to deal with, such as with Iran and Iraq. Other than lip service with threats to interfere with Israeli policy, they would do little. Israel, without further hesitation, need to shut down the portal between Gaza and Egypt. Does the US intend Iranian dominance?
By Ted Belman
A number of though-provoking posts listed below and the discussions pertaining to them have identified great dangers to Israel and America as a result of American policies, intended or otherwise.
The bottom line is that an Iranian dominated ME is looming and that nothing short of a complete volte-face by America will stop it.
American policy should be to pit Sunnis Against the Shiites in order to prevent the ascendancy of Iran. The Sunni insurgency is not a threat to Iraq per se, it is a threat to Iranian dominance and therefore should be supported. Syria should be managed in such a way as to force or encourage it to sever its support of Iran. Israel should be allowed to destroy Hezbollah and Hamas. Kurdistan should be supported in all possible ways.
The evidence for and the need for such a reversal of US policy is so great that failure to do so will be incontrovertable proof, as many here allege, that the dominance of Iran is intended.
