Yes he was born Jewish and died because he was born Jewish, but he was no more a martyr than Edith Stein. In between he lived like a goy and married on.
Their book should be titled"I am Jewish, but my son is not"

Its difficult to understand what point exactly you are trying to make , if not to denigrate this accomplished individual for marrying out. If that is the point you are trying to make,then I think that is more a reflection of your own narrow minded values and your lack of taste. You certainly don't come over as a mensche or Tsadik for saying so. I am sure that his sons grandparents will imbue their grandson with their Jewish values and try to give him the best to make up for the absence of a father.
