Police Chief Karadi Extends Internet Cafe Closure Order

Police Chief Moshe Karadi has decided to extend for one-year the closure order against the Internet Cafי, located in proximity to the Jerusalem central bus station, following a raid of the location last week by police.
One of the operators of the cafי, Yekutiel Ben-Yaakov, explained that the reason is his affiliation with the Jewish Legion and the government’s fear of the organization’s growing popularity.
Police last week raided the Jewish Legion base in Kfar Tapuach in Samaria, confiscating documents, computers and furniture.
Ben-Yaakov stated, “It is insane that we, who seek to defend the state, are now the criminals while the government aligns with Hamas and the Palestinian Authority, providing them with weapons and support.”
The Jewish Legion has successfully launched a program involving the training of attack dogs used by Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, to assist in security patrols and related responsibilities. Ben-Yaakov and his associates are followers of the late Rabbi Meir Kahane, the reason for the “police harassment” Ben-Yaakov explains.
According to police, the discovery of Rabbi Kahane’s writings and related materials in the Internet Cafי is enough for the closure order since the materials are deemed “terrorist” in nature.
Ben-Yaakov stated that there is “an element of logic, albeit twisted logic, to the police chief’s actions,” explaining, “someone who recently explained he does not rule out using live ammunition against the Jews in Hevron and gives weapons to Arab terrorists, would indeed fight against law-abiding Jewish defenders who contribute to Israeli security.”
