The Economic Reality of Hamastan
The Economic Reality of Hamastan
It should be clear to right-thinking people that the transitory victory for Hamas is actually a long-term defeat for Palestinian Arabs who don't subscribe to their violent jihad/sharia platform. The percentage of Palestinian Arabs who fall into that category is, of course, another matter altogether, but such is the only hope for them. In the modern age, there is simply no future in the dream of a neo-Caliphate and its jihad/dawa means of procurement.
So, who gets it? Who understands the grave economic stakes for a people who have chosen medieval Muhammadan killers to be their leaders?
- An American liberal Democrat gets it: Biden calls Hamas' victory sobering
- Eurocrats probably don't get it (or would rather pretend that they don't): US-EU divisions loom over aid
- The Bush administration, Foggy Bottom, and James Zogby (yeah, James Zogby) don't really get it (at least, not in a way they're willing to disclose publicly, and Zogby probably gets it and likes it): 'Earthquake' in Middle East challenges U.S. policies
- Canada's new cowboy-in-chief may be in the same quasi-realpolitik limbo as Dubya and Condi, but actually a bit more resolute in his unwillingness to deal with Islamic terrorists, even when they're freely elected: Harper hints he won't recognize Hamas rule
- I'm sure I don't really need to tell you, but I will anyway—Jimmy Carter most definitely does not get it: Carter calls for funding Palestinians
- If there's anyone who really does get it, it's Israelis and Palestinian Arabs: Israel questions PA funding &bull Also, panic at ground zero of the vote for jihad hatred: Palestinian stocks slide on Hamas win
- And of course, it goes without saying that überleftocratic useful idiots for jihad (and anything/anyone else that is inimical to Western liberal democracy and/or the United States and Israel) around the world do not get it.
The coming months will separate those who genuinely care about freedom and those who prefer to throw money at a pernicious and hostile threat to freedom, hoping that things will just sort of work themselves out.

US "may" cut off funding Palestinians http://news.yahoo.com/fc/World/Mideast_Conflict
If Palestinians want peace, and if EU et al do not fund Hamas-led Palestinians and insist they alter their ways and charter, there is going to be a change. If however other arabs states and EU and US continue to fund, nothing will change. My view": wait and see. It is one thing to be an outside group acting up; it is another thing to try to represent your people and help them and wait for the next election to see if you get returned to power.

The EU continues to subsidise the PA to the tune of 2 million dollars a day. This continues unabated. Ask yourself - would they pump a similar amount into a Taliaban controlled Afghanistan - if not, then what the hell are they doing ?

Jimmy Carter literally GETS IT- a part of the money that goes to the palestinians winds up in his pocket - The Jimmy Carter "Foundation" (Arab Money), Library and all the rest of the junk for the 43rd best US President. So of course he calls for "funding" the "Palestinians"

I have just listened to the pre-election debate on Memri TV website between Dahlan & the Hamas leader. It seems that the PA received over 6 billion dollars of foreign aid much of which was siphoned off by corrupt Fatah officials particularly Arafat to Swiss & other foreign Bank Accounts - & this is one of the main issues that the population there is so aggrieved about. How about investigating Chris Pattern who was the main man behind alot of the EU unaudited donations ending up in a black hole, surely someone should be held accountable.
