Yitzhar Residents Vs. Slanderous IDF Commander in Tel Aviv Court Tuesday

From Israel National News:

The preliminary trial will take place Tuesday morning at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court in a lawsuit brought by residents of the Shomron community of Yitzhar against IDF Company Commander Meor Shoshan, who they say slandered them in an interview over a year ago. The residents are suing Shoshan for 300,000 shekels.

While serving as commander of the region, Shoshan gave an interview to the IDF weekly B'Machaneh, where he refered to Yitzhar residents as "lawbreakers," "enemies of the public" and "a danger to the state." Shortly after the article's publication, the IDF officer was transferred from his position. The editor and author of the article are also being sued.
