“When people speak about human rights, everyone has in mind his own ones”, a German scientist and publicist Wilhelm Schwebel wrote. His words perfectly reflect the issue of “breaking” the Gaza blockade. These actions are as related to human rights as Josef Stalin’s “fight for peace”. Till now not a single person has died of hunger in Gaza . They die in the other point of the world, in Kirghizia , but nobody cares about it. The rights of Palestinians are above the rights of Uzbek people. As well as the Sudanese Christians, Iraqi Kurds, Boers in Southern Africa, “Ahmadyya” in Pakistan and Baha’is in Iran. Palestinians are the high caste of mankind because fortunately they are up against Israel , and the international community has its own rights and interests in this conflict.
What are they? Interests of all the players are very clear except for the West.

The goal of Iran is to strengthen its base on the Mediterranean Sea coast to escalate the confrontation with Israel and moderate Sunni Arab regimes, and at the same time to distract the world attention from its nuclear program.
The goal of Turkish Justice and Development Party led by Erdogan is to get points before the elections, make Turkey the leader of the Sunni world and to revive the national ambitions lost with the fall of the Ottoman Empire .
Russia is supporting Iran and Turkey in attempt to restore the previous Soviet influence, push the US out of the region, and recover the lost imperial greatness.
The aims of these powers are completely contrary to the aims of the other two leading players in the region: Israel and the moderate Arab regimes.
The goal of Israel is to provide its safety by weakening HAMAS and depriving it of its life support: weaponry, rockets and building materials to fortify smuggling and transportation tunnels and defensive bunkers.
The goal of the moderate Arab regimes coincides with that of Israel . Arabs fear of the Iranian Shiites. Nor do they want Turkey , which they dislike and fear too, to raise its role in the Middle East . Least of all they are interested in strengthening the Palestinian enclave where the Iranians and Turks will rule. First of all it concerns the Mubarak regime that fears the Muslim Brotherhood’s (of which Palestinian HAMAS is an offshoot) popularity.
Theoretically both Israel and the Arab regimes are allies of the West. So it would be right to assume that the West will protect them from regional predators. Alas! Common sense and political expediency do not work. Why? There are two reasons: irreparable losses of spiritual and cultural values by once the greatest world civilization and banal political cowardice.
The radical left and liberal part of the Western elite has voluntary deprived itself of its own heritage, values and ideals. It has refused itself right to exist, reconciled to the secondary role and even recognized its own uselessness.
The supposed “Alliance of Civilizations ” of Zapatero and Obama is nothing else but accepting voluntary the status of dhimmitude, invitation of an alien strong, dominant, and aggressive civilization to take the place of their own bankrupt and degrading one. Obama’s bows to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia , a mosque in the place of WTC, k?f?yä on Zapatero’s neck, the Libyan terrorist who had blown up the plane over Lockerby released “for health reasons” – all are the displays of this outlook. As Israel is the main irritant to Muslims, it loses its right to exist.
Zapatero recognizes the idea almost openly, Obama does it less obviously, but the essence does not change. His recent demands of Israel to open its nuclear program for IAEA oversight and to remove Gaza ’s blockade are more eloquent than any other words.
The other part of the Western political elite, European right and social-democrats, don’t accept this attitude. However, they don’t have any outlook at all. Their only goal is to keep their power up to the following elections and not to “rock the boat”.
The ideology of surviving at all costs leads to the policy of appeasement. Sarkozy (“Disproportionate application of force” by Israel ) and Kouchner (“Recognize Palestinian state before the agreement between Israel and the PA is signed”); Brown (“Labourites have a lot in common with Muslims”) and Miliband (“More respect” to Muslims), Baroness Ashton (The blockade is “unacceptable and politically counterproductive”) and Berlusconi kissing the hands of Muammar Kaddafi are certainly not anti-Semitic. Some of them are even Jews. They have nothing against Israel , as it is. They have little concern for the simple fact that the Muslim “sea” floods their own house washing away its foundations. So what use to speak about Israel , Mubarak and the Hashemite dynasty? Why to speak at all, if it is so comfortable to be silent? Especially, if there are big business, EU officials, “Greens” and anti-globalists, “Human Rights Watch” and their own cultural elite to resist? So they meekly follow the “Alliance of Civilizations”.
The more timorous is the policy of the West, the more aggressive Ahmadinejad and Erdogan become. The USA and Western Europe encourage these hysterical politicians, and their wild behavior can lead to uncontrollable consequences.
If the situation does not change (that is extremely improbable), we will witness a two-act drama. The first act will be the fall of moderate Arab regimes in Egypt , Jordan and the Persian Gulf states. If it happens, the second act will follow. Israel will be backed into his corner, surrounded by uncontrollable mad regimes. It will face the total Islamic hysteria. It will see how the circle of its enemies such as Turkey , Syria , Iran and their puppets in Lebanon and Gaza unite with “revolutionary” Muslim brothers in Egypt and Jordan .
It will see the silent indifference of the West at best and shouts of triumph and jeering at worst. The next Holocaust will cease to be an abstraction and become a reality.
Israel will be left with only two options: to die without a fight or to be lost, having destroyed the enemies. The option of falling victim to genocide or the “Option of Samson”. Zapatero and Obama believe that Israel will choose the first one. Considering the tragic and painful history of Jews, from Maccabeus and Jerusalem ’s zealots to the Warsaw ghetto and the Six-day war, I would not hurry up with conclusions. And in this case there will be no outside observers.
Just this morning we read that the Obama administration will cut funding for the Arrow III anti-ballistic missle after an increase this year. Why? To prevent Israel from successfully defending its borders. The right to use Israeli electronics packages in the new F35 fighters has been denied. The Obama administration cancelled the F22 fighter production to prevent Israel from obtaining a stealth fighter-bomber, resulting in the loss of 9000 American jobs. Helicopter acquisitions have not been granted. Bombs capable of penetrating concrete bunkers have been denied to Israel, as have refueling aircraft. If the Samson Option is utilized, the responsibility will fall directly upon Obama’s shoulders. His miscalculation and its consequences are deliberate. His goal is to eliminate a visible alternative in the shape of a prosperous happy Israel, since it represents an alternative to his vision of the world with central control: one world without alternatives!

I must add the following comment to my previous post: Mr. Obama is not an antisemite. Neither do I believe that his Islamic background does more than predispose him to opposition to Israel. Rather, I understand him to suffer from a verifiable personality dysfunction: Psychopathic Personality Disorder. He has no conscience, caring nothing for the suffering of others no matter who they are, whether distant freedom seekers or close acquaintances and relatives. If they disagree with him, they are no more than the dust of the earth that supports his steps as he strides towards his next goal.
I must say as well that an atomic confrontation initiated by Israel serves Obama’s purposes well. He believes that fewer people will be necessary to and appropriate for his future world. He can achieve his goals by sacrificing Israel and many millions more – again without guilt or sadness on his part – as would be expected from a full-blown psychopath. In this sense, he is irrational and requires isolation from political power.

With regard to Bush, he was a product of the political culture of his time, whatever his difficulties. Indeed, he was loyal to his friends to a fault: e.g. Rumsfeld. Obama is loyal to no one. Do we have we many pictures of him playing with his children, contrived or not? Michelle keeps the family together.
With regard to being nuked by psychopaths or antisemites, if the members of these two groups can be distinguished, it is on the basis of cowardice. Antisemitism is partly the result of Jews being too weak to defend themselves. Standing up to antisemites causes them to back down. Antisemites are rational haters. Psychopaths do not hate or love. They simply have short-term goals. Indeed, psychopaths can ignore slights and oppositional behavior, since they do not recognize emotion in others. Their anger is momentary and their goals, as I said, are short-term.
With regard to Obama’s psychopathy, please note that he has been totally uninterested in the contents of the bills that he has proposed – healthcare, TARP, financial reform. Psychopaths have limited attention span and do not care about the details of anything. They are impulsive and have no difficulty saying contradictory things to the same person at different times. Most important, they feel no need to justify their different statements.
Please – we have a really difficult situation with such a person in a position of power. We can run all sorts of scenarios in our heads about how things would turn out differently with different personalities in charge. Bush wanted “out” of the Presidency, so he let Iran off the hook. Obama does not care about Iran’s policies, so he lets them off the hook. Bush would have come around to attacking Iran. Obama will not attack Iran unless it suits his immediate purposes. I can see him attacking Iran just before Congressional elections or before 2012 presidential elections. He is capable of sacrificing as many millions of lives as is necessary to win re-election. That would not have been Bush’s calculation. There are a differences that makes a difference and differences that don’t.

Bush was out of political capital at the end of his presidency—no media, foreign, or popular support. He was alone, other than a few surrounding him like Cheney. People call Obama a narcissist. However, one difference between psychopaths and narcissists is that the latter become morose when seriously challenged while the former do not notice the serious nature of the challenge except through anger. There are other difference, but that is not my main concern.
I would like to redirect the discussion to risk analysis. In my opinion it is far more dangerous to have an emotionally distant person in a position of power than one who can be brought down and around by sufficient assault. If there is anything that we all seem to observe in him it is that Mr. Obama pushes ahead without regard to the opinions of the American people, indeed without the opinions of those he has appointed. I note that tonight we hear the Christina Romer, chief economic advisor, will be resigning in September to return to teaching. Her opinions have been dismissed with regard to tax increases and jobs. Nothing is important but the goal, even if the goal itself is ill-defined and not guaranteed to result from the actions he takes. In short, arm-chair or professional, it is my take on the matter that Mr. Obama is more criminal in intent and action than silly or narcissistic or ideologically inclined or Socialist or Communist or any other adjective. But while you may disagree with the reality of my adjective, you might agree that the other categories are more easily dispensed with, less capable of doing irreparable harm to America, Israel, and the world as a whole. All other categories can be grasped and thus retrospectively explained or used to predict his reactions to future events. Psychopaths are not easily contained except in jail since they say what you want to hear. Psychopaths are best at fooling people – even people who do not wish to be fooled. Mr. Obama is a great risk to world order because he is slippery and very proud of that ability. He can fool the cynics as well as the naive. Therein lies his danger. In Judaic literature it is generally understood that the value of the opinion is tied to the worthiness of the individual – except rarely when it is not. I did not know anything about Dylan Thomas’ lunacy and so I have determined after 10 minutes more research on the subject to be more circumspect about quoting him – except the phrase “dying of the light” which has touched me deeply over the years of my own existence. Ever since reading him in college that is how I have envisioned dying – the fading away of light.
In Judaic tradition it is customary when making broad statements re: any jewish subjects to cite your sources. What’s yours? Take your time. Google is not always helpful or accurate unless you know enough of the subject to ask the right question. You don’t.

Banished from our homes they impounded our possessions,
Destroying our lives, we were noble Castilians;

This lament is about the 25,000 Spanish Sephardim that came from Ottoman Turkey, Greece and the Balkans to the United States in the early 20th century, only to have soon after assimilated away. This poem was written while the author was in Toledo, Spain in 1997. It was published in 2010

Other sayings attributed to Elisha indicate that he stressed mitzvot (good deeds) as equal in importance to education:
To whom may a man who has good deeds and has studied much Torah be compared? To a man who in building [lays] stones first [for a foundation] and then lays bricks [over them], so that however much water may collect at the side of the building, it will not wash away. Contrariwise, he who has no good deeds even though he has studied much Torah — to whom may he be compared? To a man who in building lays bricks first and then heaps stones over them, so that even if a little water collects, it at once undermines the structure.[2]
Elisha was a student of Greek; as the Talmud expresses it, “Acher’s tongue was never tired of singing Greek songs” (Jerusalem Talmud, Megillah i. 9). The Talmud suggests that his study of Greek philosophy was one of the factors that led him to apostasy (Hagigah 15b). Wilhelm Bacher, in his analysis of Talmudic legends, wrote that the similes attributed to Elisha (including the ones cited above) show that he was a man of the world, acquainted with wine, horses, and architecture. He evidently had a reputation as an authority in questions of religious practice, since Mo’ed Katan 20a records one of his halakhic decisions — the only one in his name, although others may be recorded under the names of his students or different rabbis. The Babylonian Talmud asserts that Elisha, while a teacher in the beth midrash (academy), kept forbidden books hidden in his clothes (Hagigah 15b).”

Not exactly there are many non Jewish historical references to those times and events. Modern archeology has substantiated much of the narrative.
The war was mainly a Jewish civil war lasting some 23 years, where the then Orthodox religious Jews slaughtered most what would be termed today secular assimilated Jews who worshiped Hellenist culture over Jewish. Josephus was a traitor then and would be today as well, J street would be too Jewish for him. The carnage was so great that the rabbis downplayed the civil war and inserted most of our present traditions. It must have been exhilarating to get to kill those Jewish liberal maggots.
