National Jewish Democratic Council is about as Jewish as the Westboro Baptist Church is Christian

Chutzpah: a man murders his parents and then asks the court for mercy because he is an orphan. Chutzpah certainly describes the National Jewish Democratic Council’s recent condemnation of Sarah Palin for calling accusations that she somehow incited the alleged crime of Jared Lee Loughner as blood libels. It is a matter of record that NJDC has itself posted material that could be used to incite hatred of Jews as well as a blood libel of the Christian computer game “Left Behind: Eternal Forces.” Here is what David A. Harris had to say about Palin:

Instead of dialing down the rhetoric at this difficult moment, Sarah Palin chose to accuse others trying to sort out the meaning of this tragedy of somehow engaging in a “blood libel” against her and others. This is of course a particularly heinous term for American Jews, given that the repeated fiction of blood libels are directly responsible for the murder of so many Jews across centuries—and given that blood libels are so directly intertwined with deeply ingrained anti-Semitism around the globe, even today.

NJDC should have thought about the latter before it posted material whose purpose, whether intentional or not, is to foment anti-Semitism and could therefore be called a blood libel.

As for the purportedly common ground between Jews and Christians on American domestic issues, it is narrow indeed. Research by a variety of scholars and pollsters – Ken Wald of the University of Florida, Eric Uslaner and Mark Lichbach of the University of Maryland, the survey released just last week by the American Jewish Committee – shows a chasm between American Jews and evangelical Christians on issues ranging from the Iraq war to legal abortion to gay rights.

More than identifying the schism on any specific topic, the research describes a visceral distrust, bordering on antipathy, for Evangelical Christians on the part of American Jews. For myself, I find this attitude to be exaggerated, or at least more suited to the past than the present, and yet it is an undeniable political reality. It is the kind of passionate reflex that a political consultant of my acquaintance, who happens to be a Republican, refers to as an “emotional trigger.” And in any campaign, he says, you need to find your side’s emotional trigger to get people out the door to vote.

Drawing on several centuries of anti-semitism, Bauer intensifies her anti-semitic assault by making the virtuous German the object of the Jewish hate. The German is portrayed as hard-working, honest, handsome and courageous. In his character and physical appearance, the Jew is depicted as the antithesis of these qualities. This so-called Jewish hate of the German actually has its basis in the hatred of Jews by Christians who considered the Jews to be Christ-killers. As early as the eighteenth century, the Talmud was depicted as a book that encouraged and justified the commission of crimes against Christians. To put this another way, the anti-Semitic hate propaganda does not begin with the premise, “We Christians should hate Jews,” it presents “evidence” that Jews hate Christians or, as stated in the article posted by NJDC, have a “visceral distrust” of Christians. This answers the question of the Christian Propaganda Man, the person to whom the anti-Semitic propaganda is directed, as to why he should hate Jews. Another version of this blood libel, this one far more crude and vicious, was approved by the moderators at MoveOn.org for posting to its Action Forum:

Just take a look at Jewish internet sites in Israel and abroad and see how Jewish youngsters are congratulating each other on the killings of these helpless toddlers in Gaza.
This murderous cannibalism doesn’t come out of the blue. Today in Israel, school curricula are dominated by the Talmud, especially a specific Talmudic text called Shulhan Aruch.
In this text, Jews are commanded to slaughter non-Jews who are viewed more or less as animals or at least lesser human beings.
Of course, Jewish propagandists and apologists would invoke “anti-Semitism” when the truth about the racist, Nazi-like garbage Israeli boys and girls are being taught is exposed through the media.
In fact, if any objective truth-seeker wants to find out why the Israeli army and para-military Jewish terrorists are doing what they are doing to the helpless Palestinians, which is actually nothing less than a slow-motion genocide, one has to go first to the Talmud, the unofficial constitution of Israel. This hateful scripture is Israel’s real Torah as every rabbi would admit.

We remind our readers that NJDC used its nominally Jewish identity to whitewash MoveOn.org’s knowing and willful hosting of anti-Semitic and other forms of hate speech, much as kapos (Jewish concentration camp trustees) used their Jewish identities to convince other Jews that the Nazi cattle cars were going to carry them to nice country resorts instead of gas chambers. The difference between the kapos of World War II and the National Judenrat Democratic Kapos is that the former had guns to their heads, often literally, and would have been killed had they not acted as Judas goats. NJDC chose to whitewash MoveOn.org’s vicious anti-Semitism entirely on its own because MoveOn.org’s agenda is far more important to it than Jews or Judaism. We remind our readers that MoveOn.org did not direct its hate speech exclusively at Jews; note the similarity of this cartoon to those of 19th century cartoonist Thomas Nast.

If we define a blood libel as any falsehood whose purpose or effect is to evoke loathing and hatred of its target, and possibly violence such as a pogrom against its target, then the phrase “the research describes a visceral distrust, bordering on antipathy, for Evangelical Christians on the part of American Jews” is a blood libel that the NJDC posted on its Web site–along with the anti-Christian hate video “Bubbie versus the GOP,” which was approved by former NJDC leader Ira Forman. Much of it is not Bubbie against Republicans but Bubbie against Jesus, Christian ministers, and the Cross. Here is a screen shot.

Anybody who portrayed Jews sewing a Star of David into the flag’s blue field would be accused quite rightly of anti-Semitism so NJDC is equally guilty of anti-Christian hate speech. NJDC also blood libeled the Christian computer game “Left Behind: Eternal Forces.”

Believe it or not, the Pentagon came close last week to sending out a video game that rewards gamers “for how effectively they role play the killing of those who resist becoming a born again Christian.”

….What is it about this right-wing fundamentalist group that makes the Pentagon think it can totally disregard Constitutionally-mandated American liberties or thinks it appropriate to promote a game that glorifies the killing of non-Christians??

This, like many of the statements that come from the NJDC, is an outright lie and the NJDC knows it.

The goal of the Tribulation Force is to save as many people from the clutches of the antichrist as possible.

Your purpose is absolutely NOT to wipe out the enemy forces – remember, those are PEOPLE he has deceived.

The Christians can of course use guns to defend themselves from the Antichrist’s armed minions, but the preferred approach is to change them to neutrals with Christian music and then have missionaries convert them to Christianity. (The Antichrist’s side can meanwhile employ evil rock musicians to sway Christians from their faith, after which they can be turned to the side of evil.) The bottom line is however that NJDC’s statement that the game “glorifies the killing of non-Christians” is an outright lie and a blood libel (because it falsely accuses Christians of glorifying the killing of non-Christians).

Those who actually deal in blood libels (defined here as any false and loathsome accusation whose purpose is to evoke hatred of its target and possible violence against its target) have no right to complain when somebody like Sarah Palin complains of blood libels that have been directed against her.
