UN Votes to Make “palestine” Full Member of UNESCO
Laura: Fittingly on Halloween the ghouls, monsters and vampires in the UN have voted for the terror entity of “palestine” to become a full-fledged member of UNESCO. It’s time to cut the UN off. No American taxpayer money for anti-Semites and annihilationists.
Palestine becomes member of UN cultural body Associated Press PARIS (AP) — Palestine became a full member of the U.N. Cultural and educational agency Monday, in a highly divisive move that the United States and other opponents say could harm renewed Mideast peace efforts.
U.S. Lawmakers had threatened to withhold roughly $80 million in annual funding to UNESCO if it approved Palestinian membership. The United States provides about 22 percent of UNESCO’s funding.
Huge cheers went up in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization after delegates approved the membership in a vote of 107-14 with 52 abstentions. Eighty-one votes were needed for approval in a hall with 173 UNESCO member delegations present.
“Long Live Palestine!” shouted one delegate, in French, at the unusually tense and dramatic meeting of UNESCO’s General Conference.
While the vote has large symbolic meaning, the issue of borders of an eventual Palestinian state, security troubles and other disputes that have thwarted Middle East peace for decades remain unresolved.
Palestinian officials are seeking full membership in the United Nations, but that effort is still under examination and the U.S. Has said it will veto it unless there is a peace deal with Israel. Given that, the Palestinians separately sought membership at Paris-based UNESCO and other U.N. Bodies.
Monday’s vote is definitive. The membership formally takes effect when Palestine signs UNESCO’s founding charter.
The U.S. Ambassador to UNESCO, David Killion, said Monday’s vote will “complicate” U.S. Efforts to support the agency. The United States voted against the measure.
Israel’s ambassador to UNESCO, Nimrod Barkan, called the vote a tragedy.
“UNESCO deals in science, not science fiction,” he said. “They forced on UNESCO a political subject out of its competence.”
“They’ve forced a drastic cut in contributions to the organization,” he said.
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton last week called UNESCO’s deliberation “inexplicable,” saying discussion of Palestinian membership in international organizations couldn’t replace negotiations with Israel as a fast-track toward Palestinian independence
Good, I nominate Jason Voorhees and Freddy Kruger to become UNESCO members as well. They are every bit as fictional as “Palestine.”
The U.S. was required to cut its contributions to UNESCO, which is about 20 percent of UNESCO’s budget. That means less national debt and less money leeched by UN parasites from the pockets of U.S. taxpayers.
Israel should withhold its dues from the UN and let the Turd World parasites pay their own way for a change. The U.S. should do so as well as that would cut our deficit by $7 billion. Our economy can no longer support this menagerie of grunting Third World animals from the least civilized parts of the world.
We need to go further. No funding for the PLO. No funding for the “Useless Nations Refugee Relief Agency” aka arab/muslim jizya extortion of the West.

I got spam-botted by the ghouls at Israpundit. This is really annoying, and no joke.
I think the software looks for certain words like g a m b l i n g and d r u g s. My comments got held up when I used the first regarding “Dinner with Barack,” the illegal l o t t e r y run by our President in 2007, and the second regarding Mexican gangs to which the Obama Administration supplied guns.
Bill,
All I did was list the countries who voted for, against and abstain on the resolution, plus the citation. Apparently, all Israpundit wants to let through are profanity and knee-jerk, 25-words-or-less inanities.
All these nice ideas about not funding the UN…
Just leave already.
Shy Guy,
The UN is the main tool of propagating US foreign policy, as was the “League of Nations” before it. That is why its main offices are in New York City. The UN is intended to give the appearance of “world-wide democracy” to back policies of our government. They are allowed to pass as many resolutions as they please, to express their own national agendas; but on matters that require serious action, nothing can be passed without US permission (This is because of our veto power in the Security Council). Of course, the world’s nations are so divided, have such diverse interests and such corrupt leaders, that about the only thing they can agree on is blaming the Jews for everything. Their repeated condemnations do nothing to harm US interests, and have the benefit of forcing Israel to come to us as a petitioner. Other countries, such as Russia and China, also have veto power, which has two results: (1) If they veto what we want to do, we can simply drop the facade and work around them (because we are immensely powerful), and (2) If they do NOT veto what we want, they become complicit with us and share the blame for the consequences.
The kingdoms of Europe, up until WWI, were able to pursue their own national interests with a “ram you, damn you” attitude. They divided the world among themselves into spheres of interest, and were rather content with this situation. The US was the new kid on the block, without a royal family to form marriage alliances with. They sought to change the rules of international conduct, and succeeded — with the UN.
Expecting the US to quit the UN, is like expecting it to fire its State Department (which would also be good news for the Jews, but don’t hold your breath waiting for it to happen soon).
FIFY
I was talking about Israel.
But it applies just the same to the US. It will just take more time to come to the same conclusion.
Cut off all funding to the un, cutoff all funding to the plo cut off all funding to Americas enemies cutoff all funding to Israels enemies
Thanks for that list Bland. My Country is first named. A No vote. At least we are doing something right downunder.
US Cuts $60M to UNESCO after P.A. Vote
I have seen E-mail spam that includes long lists of this nature to attempt to disguise the actual spam. It’s possible that the anti-spam software looks for that as well, although it is annoying; too many false positives.
Teshuvah,
I haven’t read the fine print, but I suspect that the US is merely “holding up” payment of that $60 million, and will quickly slip it into Abbas’s big pockets as soon as nobody’s looking. The same goes for funds that Israel is supposedly “withholding” from the Pals as “punishment”. It’s all BS.
My thoughts on this subject.
Blandoatmeal ur probably right
Yamit,
