    Brilliant youth

I think you would fit in well with today’s youth Felix.

    @ Felix Quigley:
Before you go and take a break from this site offering no solutions, as you perceive it, I’d like to say the following. I feel honored to be talking to these guys. Unlike me, they have excellent knowledge of Israel and its history. And they are quite sharp too. ~~~ I’m just a distant observer who cares about Israel. That’s all. My humble ideas come from awareness of human nature and a bit I’ve read, particularly about the Holocaust. Those years revealed everything good and bad about human beings and governments we need to know. While it left me with no illusions, now there’s the added despair of watching an Israeli mindset that seems so dangerously disconnected from reality.

The reasons for that mindset are too complex for one person to understand. FEAR is one of them. Fear of security agencies (so many subjects are taboo except to exiled conspiracy theorists). Fear of offending critics of Israel (yes, let’s give citizenship to everyone!). And then add to it a condition called “normalcy bias” or profound denial of how bad things really are.

Over the years I have also noticed that Zionist Israeli writers stop short from offering solutions. I found it frustrating at first. Then I realized that maybe they can’t articulate them for personal safety reasons. It’s the reader’s job to infer them from their presentation of facts and analyses.

As far as grassroots leaders is concerned, they may be afraid as well. They are very careful with their words, and the little bit of rebellion they advocate does not threaten government policies. They build shacks on hilltops, they plant trees. But they would not dare to organize a Yesha union to legally oppose government actions. So they keep youth busy with harmless and pointless activities. ~~~ It gets worse. They don’t deter them from stupid Price Tag operations that only help police build files on them and neuter them indefinitely as potential leaders. So leaders squander young people’s time and sidetrack their energies.

Some little groups are very good (Regavim) but they remain small and limited in scope. Were they to grow, the government would find a way to control and intimidate their leadership.

MKs have been evolving a bit, getting braver, or maybe listening to the people a little more. Now they advocate partial or full annexation. But they are afraid of saying “there are alternatives to citizenship”. Instead they cringe at the word “apartheid,” and in a demographically suicidal fashion, they offer citizenship for all, terrorists and subversives included. Yes, their plan is a trap – but maybe that’s by design. If it scares and divides the nationalists, that clears the way for the government to proceed with partition. If annexation is carried out with citizenship and right to vote for all, that is also a way to Arabize Israel. From the elite’s perspective, they win either way.

I like the word “elite” because it denotes power and influence, not ideology, which I suspect ranges from classical left all the way to selfish economic and personal motivation. There are Jewish anti-Semites among them, and some making a very good living from trading with Gaza and the PA. What they share is a deep contempt for religious Zionism and Zionism in general. They think the state of Israel is more trouble than it’s worth, and the sooner it can be dismantled or morphed into an Arabized state, the better.

So, government intimidation, corruption, anti-Semitism, political correctness, they are all playing a part in this tragedy.

I have no ‘grand solution’ to offer because the one I have in mind could never take place. So the next best thing would be for a big group of reputable leaders to organize and go on a very aggressive campaign to educate the public and debunk all the myths that the left and the right are putting forward. The larger this group, the better. There’s safety in numbers. And if people became really angry (as they did when they marched against the admission of more African infiltrators), that would be great.

But who is going to get this campaign started? Who is going to put his safety and that of his family at risk? Who is going to argue with security agencies ‘advice’? Youth have less at stake and could do wonders, but they are under an ineffective and timid leadership who may themselves be under the control and influence of the elite.

Yamit I think I know that video, if it is the same one the young Jewish guy doing the interview (Note he was young, a young Jew) he looked at Alan in complete amazement at his answer. Alan wrote a good book, the Case for Israel, but it is laced through and through with a lie, that there can be a living with Islam. No there cannot be any living with Islam. It is an evil ideology as Alexis de Tocqueville and even Marx in his short though precise statement said, but what many leave out is that it “morphs” and in a period of crisis like the present towards Fascism. As Mallman and Cuppers showed us so well in their book there was a real synthesis between Christianity as in the German Papen etc. and Islam, in the form of Hajj Amin el Husseini. Only by some chance were the Jews of Yesha spared the Holocaust (el Alamein)

Do you ever edit what you write, this entire paragraph is incomprehensable, Sugar,(oopps, there I go again, being sexist)

    Felix Quigley Said:

I don’t think there were many Jews in Yesha at the time of El Alamein. You throw the term holocaust around too easily and after your corrupting influences and concepts are injected the term holocaust is depleted from any accurate or intelligent description and meaning.

Jews do not accept or believe in abstract chance.
According to the Jewish worldview, nothing abstract exists. According to the Jewish view, form and content do not exist separately. There is no meaning to the hybrid political attempt, propounded by the some of the founding fathers of the State of Israel, to “be nationalist in content and socialist in form.” The Jew as Jew – that is a man.

Judaism was not a religion, but a complete way of life. It included all of life. Any phenomenon that was new to man, was included by Judaism in its commandments. When you take the spirit of G-d from man only the dust of the earth is left. When you take the higher spirit from man, you are left with instincts.

Judaism gave the world Bereshit, Genesis, the “beginning,” with which the Torah opens. This is the first concept of limits in space and time. Thought is by nature circular, without beginning. The Torah opens with the letter bet, not with a definition of G-d. We know G-d only from His creation. The land was chaos, and G-d set limits: oceans, order, instead of infinity. There is an order and an intention in history. If the world had been created by accident, it would have no meaning. But if it has a beginning, a creation, it is no accident, rather an intention, with purpose.

I would add that sometimes it is better to be reactive rather than proactive as most policies are faulty and cannot consider the “Bradbury Butterfly Effect” which could emanate from their policies.

I have a painting I made of Mt Sopris while in Aspen. Itt rises from the Yampa Valley like a monolith. It is one of the “Four Sacred Mountains of the Navahjo.
I enjoyed the video of the young soldier and the prayer before battle. The Navajo have a blessing called the “Warrior Way” that returns a warrior to every day life and peace. Does the Rabbi bless the troops when they return from battle?
Were you in the IDF,as a Jew I’am very proud of those men.

Ending of discussion thus by Yamit…Have you read the book by Mallman and Cuppers?

And the discussion finally ends by Yamit asserting that thought is circular. While the crisis as described by the writer I referred to continually Sherman intensifies by the hour…

Why do you think Netanyahu brought this up four years up after his original Bar-Ilan address? And why did he fail to stress the Jewish national rights to the Land Of Israel given the illegitimacy of any Arab claim to it whatsoever.

They still enjoy killing Jews for the record – like the Nazis did and are completely unrepentant about it – and in fact they’re proud of it!

I was discussing the book by Mallman and Cuppers. Yamit82 evaded talking about it (see my comment 16 above). Then out of the blue you weigh in with something about French “Trotsky..ites” but the article you refer to does not for a moment identify who they are.

But why would you do this? Why this interest in denigrating the name of Leon Trotsky? Are you somehow afraid of his name?

  21. yamit82 says:

    Felix Quigley Said:

Why this interest in denigrating the name of Leon Trotsky?

I think the use of Trotsky was actually directed in your direction.

For the same reason we denigrate loyal supporters of Obama.

We ask the question how can those who claim to be supportive and loyal to Obama be real supporters of Israel and of Jews?

Notice that I made no comment, therfore, I was not denigrating him. we find the name Trotsky in the current events so rarely, and knowing that you often call his name, I thought you would be interested in something current related to Trotsky.

    Sam Trotsky,

I think he was related to “Broncho Billy” Anderson, who is best known as the first star of the Western film genre. Anderson was born Maxwell Henry Aronson in Little Rock, Arkansas, the sixth child of Henry and Esther (née Ash) Aronson, natives of New York. His family was Jewish. He lived until age eight in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, then moved with his family to St. Louis, Missouri. At 18, he moved to New York City.
