End of the Line for MoveOn.org

    by Bill Levinson

There is an outstanding scene in one of the Karate Kid movies in which a corrupt martial arts instructor’s students finally recognize his dishonesty and lack of character, throw their belts at his feet, and walk away in disgust. Almost half of the Senate’s Democrats and two thirds of the House’s Democrats have just done the same with MoveOn.org. These include former MoveOn.org candidates Bob Casey (PA), Bill Nelson (FL), Patrick Murphy (PA-08) and Nick Lampson (TX-22). This is the long-awaited break in the ranks that marks the end of MoveOn.org. It shows that many if not most Democrats are now more afraid of public opinion and common decency than they are of MoveOn.org’s organizing capabilities and George Soros’ money.

In early September, MoveOn.org made the fatal mistake–a mistake stemming directly from its total lack of character and ethics–of publishing an advertisement that defamed a prominent Army officer with the two worst possible accusations: lying and betrayal. MoveOn.org was even stupid enough to include text in the ad that proved that it had not even waited to hear what he had to say before making these accusations. The denunciation of this advertisement by about half of the Senate’s Democrats and almost two thirds of the House’s Democrats shows that the majority of the Democratic Party has had its fill of MoveOn.org’s irresponsibility, dishonesty, and promotion of hatred and contempt for Jews, Catholics, and even African-Americans it happens to dislike. The fact that Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Keith Ellison are still standing squarely with MoveOn.org should tell voters everything they need to know about these individuals’ personal character.

This is the end of the line for the anti-Semitic and anti-Catholic hate organization known as MoveOn.org. We are disappointed that this end did not come a year ago, which is what would have happened had Democrat Joe Lieberman (“Jew Lieberman” to MoveOn.org) and Republicans like Rick Santorum made a big issue of the organization’s propagation of hatred and contempt toward Jews, Catholics, evangelical Christians, and even Black people it happened to dislike. Nonetheless, better late than never.

Let’s begin with a look at how the candidates whom MoveOn.org openly endorsed in 2006 voted. Those who won their elections are highlighted.

Sherrod Brown for U.S. Senate (OH) : Voted to stand with MoveOn.org in smearing General Petraeus. When he’s bought, he stays bought.
Francine Busby for U.S. Congress (CA-50): Was not elected.
Robert Byrd for U.S. Senate (WV): The Ku Klux Klansman voted to stand with MoveOn.org in smearing General Petraeus. Maybe Byrd objected to seeing Petraeus with African-American service personnel, noting that Byrd once vowed he would never serve in the Armed Forces “with a Negro by my side.”
Bob Casey for U.S. Senate (PA): Voted to stand with General Petraeus against MoveOn.org, even though this will doubtlessly cost him MoveOn’s support.
Diane Farrell for U.S. Congress (CT-04): Was not elected
Ned Lamont (D-CT): Lost the election to “Jew Lieberman” as MoveOn.org calls him
Nick Lampson for U.S. Congress (TX-22): Voted to stand with General Petraeus against MoveOn.org, even though this will doubtlessly cost him MoveOn’s support.
Patrick Murphy for U.S. Congress (PA-08): Voted to stand with General Petraeus against MoveOn.org, even though this will doubtlessly cost him MoveOn’s support.
Bill Nelson for U.S. Senate (FL): Voted to stand with General Petraeus against MoveOn.org, even though this will doubtlessly cost him MoveOn’s support.

Therefore, of the six candidates whom MoveOn.org endorsed in 2006, and who actually won their elections, four turned against MoveOn.org and voted to stand with General Petraeus. We again remind our readers of that scene in the Karate Kid. Of MoveOn.org’s six “students,” four threw their belts at its feet and walked across the line to join the good guys.

We predict for the record that MoveOn.org will play no meaningful role in next year’s elections, other than to drag down Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and everyone else to whom MoveOn’s purported organizing power and George Soros’ money are more important than honor, common decency, and the well-being of their country. For those who do not know who George Soros is, here is a refresher.

    http://www.discoverthenetwork.org/individualProfile.asp?indid=977
…“America under Bush,” he [Soros] said, “is a danger to the world, and I’m willing to put my money where my mouth is.”

Soros pledged to raise $75 million to defeat President Bush in the 2004 Presidential election, and personally donated nearly a third of that amount to anti-Bush groups (see The Shadow Party). He gave $5 million to MoveOn.org, the group that produced political ads likening Bush to Adolf Hitler. He also contributed $10 million to a Democratic Party 2004 get-out-the-vote initiative called America Coming Together, whose directors include representatives from the AFL-CIO, the Sierra Club, the Service Employees International Union, and EMILY’s List.

We have just seen that George Soros considers the United States a danger to the world, and here is what he thinks of Israel. These are George Soros’ own words, and George Soros is the power behind MoveOn.org.

The Bush administration is actively supporting the Israeli government in its refusal to recognize a Palestinian unity government that includes Hamas, which the US State Department considers a terrorist organization. [Our observation: Hamas IS a terrorist organization.] This precludes any progress toward a peace settlement at a time when progress on the Palestinian problem could help avert a conflagration in the greater Middle East.

…One explanation is to be found in the pervasive influence of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), which strongly affects both the Democratic and the Republican parties.[2] AIPAC’s mission is to ensure American support for Israel but in recent years it has overreached itself. It became closely allied with the neocons and was an enthusiastic supporter of the invasion of Iraq. It actively lobbied for the confirmation of John Bolton as US ambassador to the United Nations. It continues to oppose any dialogue with a Palestinian government that includes Hamas. More recently, it was among the pressure groups that prevailed upon the Democratic House leadership to drop the requirement that the President obtain congressional approval before taking military action against Iran. AIPAC under its current leadership has clearly exceeded its mission, and far from guaranteeing Israel’s existence, has endangered it.

George Soros also blames Israel for anti-Semitism. It may be noted that his statement was so far beyond the pale that even the Anti-Defamation League’s Abraham Foxman took exception to it.

When asked about anti-Semitism in Europe, Soros, who is Jewish, said European anti-Semitism is the result of the policies of Israel and the United States.

…Abraham Foxman, national director of the Anti-Defamation League, called Soros’ comments “absolutely obscene.” “He buys into the stereotype,” Foxman said. “It’s a simplistic, counterproductive, biased and bigoted perception of what’s out there. It’s blaming the victim for all of Israel’s and the Jewish people’s ills.” Furthermore, Foxman (right) said, “If he sees that his position of being who he is may contribute to the perception of anti-Semitism, what’s his solution to himself — that he give up his money? That he close his mouth?”

No political figure who takes George Soros’ money can be regarded as loyal to the United States, noting Soros’ hatred of the United States and his desire to subordinate it to the United Nations or some other form of world government. We add explicitly that Barack Obama has been bought and paid for by George Soros, who with his family contributed $60,000 to Obama’s Senate campaign in Illinois.

(Note, however, that Casey, Nelson, Lantos, Murphy, and even Landrieu recently voted to stand with Petraeus against MoveOn.org. At this point, we could even consider voting for Bob Casey for President were he to enter and win the Democratic primaries, although there is no chance whatsoever that we will vote for Clinton or Obama.)

George Soros uses a vast network of special interest groups and non-governmental organizations, in the United States and abroad, to support his global objective — a one-world government.

Open borders are a stepping stone in his efforts to put into action his open-society philosophy. What form will a one-world government take? Not surprisingly it will be a billionaire oligarchy. What sort of billionaire? To begin with, try one George Soros.

Open-society, open-borders advocates seek to vilify the United States as a war-mongering, empire-building, brutish abuser of the world’s impoverished nations. The United States thus is worthy of internal and external contempt and global defeats as part of the nation’s deconstruction.

…Organizations that receive Soros funding, directly or indirectly, include Human Rights Watch, the Center for American Progress, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), and the New Democrat Network (NDN). As an example of what these organizations do, the NDN operates the Hispanic Strategy Center to assist immigrants, legal and illegal. The goal is to extend the vote to all non-citizens and to assure that they vote the Democratic ticket.

That last line raises another interesting question: at what point should American citizens disregard laws that are passed by a legislative body whose members were elected by non-citizens? Since non-citizens do not have the right to vote, anyone who is elected by their votes is not legitimate, nor is his or her vote on any legislation. We would personally feel no moral obligation whatsoever to obey any law that was passed by legislators who were elected by non-citizens and, as a juror, we would not enforce such laws.

As far as we are concerned, one can stand with George Soros and MoveOn.org, or one can stand with the United States, but one cannot do both. While there is not enough room here to detail the entire House vote, we have compiled it in a table at this page. Now let’s take a look at some of the more prominent members of Congress and their votes.

    ==================================================
U.S. Senate Voted for the statement “To express the sense of the Senate that General David H. Petraeus, Commanding General, Multi-National Force-Iraq, deserves the full support of the Senate and strongly condemn personal attacks on the honor and integrity of General Petraeus and all members of the United States Armed Forces.”

    Casey (D-PA) Former MoveOn.org candidate
Cornyn (R-TX) Deserves credit for introducing this amendment
Feinstein (D-CA) MoveOn’s actions were apparently too repulsive even for Dianne Feinstein. Credit where credit is due.
Lieberman (ID-CT) That’s “Jew Lieberman” as MoveOn’s people call him.
    McCain (R-AZ)
    Nelson (D-FL) Former MoveOn.org candidate

    ===================================================
Senate: Voted against the above, thus voting to support the statement, “General David H. Petraeus, Commanding General, Multi-National Force-Iraq, does not deserve the support of the Senate, and we support the personal attacks on the honor and integrity of General Petraeus and all members of the United States Armed Forces.”

Brown (D-OH) Sherrod Brown, MoveOn.org candidate in 2006. It looks like MoveOn and George Soros are getting their money’s worth from him.
Byrd (D-WV) The Ku Klux Klansman who once proclaimed he would never serve in the Armed Forces “with a Negro by my side,” who called Black people “race mongrels and throwbacks to the blackest specimens of the wilds,” and whose mentor was the notorious racist and segregationist Theodore Bilbo. Byrd also accepted MoveOn.org’s endorsement.
Clinton (D-NY) Also said that Petraeus’ testimony to Congress required “willing suspension of disbelief.” Anything a Clinton says (especially when Bill is wagging his finger) requires more than just a willing suspension of disbelief, it requires the consumption of mind-altering drugs to be credible. Clinton, who voted to send our Armed Forces to Iraq in the first place, is therefore totally unfit to hold any position of authority over those Armed Forces. This includes not only lack of fitness to be Commander in Chief, but lack of fitness to serve even in the Senate.
Durbin (D-IL) “Turban Durbin” as Michael Savage calls him, and with good reason.
    Kennedy (D-MA)
Kerry (D-MA) Kerry was against MoveOn.org’s ad (he called it “over the top”) before he voted to support it.
Levin (D-MI) of Hillary Clinton’s disgraced Million Mom March (the one that was raising tax-exempt money for electioneering purposes)
    Schumer (D-NY)
Obama (D-IL) Obama said he was not going to dignify the resolution of support for Petraeus by voting on it. When George Soros buys this guy, at least he stays bought! (Soros and his family gave Obama $60K for his Senate campaign.)

    ======================================================
House of Representatives: Voted to stand with General Petraeus and to condemn MoveOn.org’s defamatory advertisement
Nick Lampson (TX), former MoveOn.org candidate
Tom Lantos (“Whining, arrogant Jew” per MoveOn.org)
Patrick Murphy (PA), former MoveOn.org candidate

    =======================================================
House of Representatives: Voted to stand with MoveOn.org while defaming General Petraeus
    Corrine Brown (FL)
John Conyers (MI), the same one who wants reparations for slavery
Keith Ellison, the Islamic member of Congress, promotes his fellow Islamic radicals’ jihad by voting with MoveOn.org to smear our country’s Armed Forces
Moran (VA) whom even the National Jewish Democratic Council recently condemned
Jerrold Nadler of Hillary Clinton’s disgraced Million Mom March
Jan Schakowsky, another Million Mom Marcher.

The bottom line is that, as shown by these votes, more Congressional Democrats are afraid of public opinion and the force of common decency than there are who are still afraid of MoveOn.org’s organizing capability and George Soros’ money. This is why the events of September 2007 mark the end of the line for MoveOn.org.

One Comment to End of the Line for MoveOn.org

    1. Laura says:

He gave $5 million to MoveOn.org, the group that produced political ads likening Bush to Adolf Hitler

I hope you were just as outraged when tv ads coming directly from the GOP showed Max Cleland alongside bin laden and saddam hussein during the ’02 midterm election campaign.

And one might ask Soros just how recognition of a terrorist government would aid in the progression of peace?

    2. BlandOatmeal says:

This is worse than the run-up to WWII. Could you imagine a League of Nations resolution singling out Jews for condemnation? Even Hitler, in his wildest dreams, would never have expected such a thing. The only thing that hasn’t changed, is support by the majority of the Jewish community for the enemies of Israel.

Yamit, take notice: Standing with Israel were the US, Canada, UK, Denmark, Netherlands, Poland, Czechia and Romania. These are all countries you regularly condemn. Right Wing Jews like you are no better than the Left Wing Jews: You all seem determined to undermine Israel and its friends, until nothing is left of it. May God’s curse be upon all of you.

As for me, I thank God that at least SOMEONE is standing up for God’s people, while God’s people are opting for suicide rather than having to stand for His name. God bless those leaders who stood fast — including Ehud Olmert.

    3. yamit82 says:

Oat: I think you might look elsewhere for reasons those countries voted aainst. It was not because they support Israel. Notice almost every anti resolution passed against Israel by GA, at best they abstain.

Do you know what you are talking about? I will take full responsibility for what I say but not for that which I haven’t. Show where I have even mentioned Denmark, Netherlands, Czech republic and Romania?

May God’s curse be upon all of you

Who is all of you? Do you think that maybe you are part of G-ds curse on us?

As for me, I thank God that at least SOMEONE is standing up for God’s people, while God’s people are opting for suicide rather than having to stand for His name. God bless those leaders who stood fast — including Ehud Olmert.

who might that someone be? Olmert standing strong?

Re: Majority of Jewish community, in case you haven’t noticed, I am in Israel now and for many years. I have made my choices.
Re: the disgusting segment of the American Jewish community and their leaders, all I can say is it’s their choice and their ultimate funerals.

    4. Ted Belman says:

Canada stands by Israel on principle. The Conservative government does the right thing.
