In recent months, a curious argument has surfaced in favor of US President Barack Obama. His supporters argue that Obama’s foreign policy has been a massive success. If he had as much freedom of action on domestic affairs as he has on foreign affairs, they say, his achievements in all areas would be without peer.
Expressing this view, Karen Finney, a former Democratic spokeswoman who often defends the party in the US media, told The Huffington Post, “Look at the progress the president can make when he doesn’t have Republicans obstructing him.”

These numbers sure sound like BS to me. In order to reach 63 seats, the left would have to include the Arab Parties with 10 seats which has never been done before. But more important is the fact that Liku with the greatest number of seats would be asked to form the government. Furthermore, I believe that they the combined YB and Likud would have 10 seats more than what this poll indicates. Ted Belman
Poll: Party headed by Israeli journalist Yair Lapid could become second-largest in Knesset
According to the poll, if Lapid chooses to set up a new party, it would receive 15 Knesset seats in Israel’s next elections, as opposed to Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman’s party, Yisrael Beiteinu, which would receive 14 seats. Likud would remain the largest party in the Knesset, with 24 seats, and the Labor Party would tie in second place with Lapid’s party with 15 seats.

Laura: While islam wages a relentless and bloodthirsty global jihad, the wretched and moral degenerate leftist cowards of the western elite believe that it is Israel that doesn’t deserve to exist. The left has nothing to say about the unspeakable horrors perpetrated upon women, children and non-muslims in islamic countries whether by regimes or terror groups. But they constantly condemn Israel on the basis of invented “crimes”. It goes to show how far the west has degenerated when the barbarians surrounding Israel are given legitimacy and treated with respect while Israel itself, the only civilized and free country in the region, is treated as a pariah. You never hear anyone saying that nations with the world’s most brutal regimes don’t deserve to exist, yet this is considered a legitimate opinion when it comes to Israel.

The Signs Are There If Jews Only Open Their Eyes
By Bill Narvey
What? Another Holocaust could be just around the bend?
Renowned conservative pundit, Mark Steyn sure seems to think so.
An article, December 6th, 2011 in The Jewish Tribune out of Toronto by Joanne Hill, that likely has not received the attention it deserves, certainly raises the specter of another genocidal holocaust against the Jews, Western society complicit: Resurgence in antisemitism may lead to second Holocaust, Steyn says.
Hill was reporting on a recent address by Steyn to about 1,000 people gathered at Toronto’s Reform Jewish synagogue, Holy Blossom Temple, which focused on resurgent antisemitism, particularly in Europe.
The article’s title is taken from Steyn’s startling dire warning of what the future may hold for us Jews.
Hysteria? Fear mongering? Maybe, but to what purpose and what is in it for Steyn who is not Jewish?

MARK STEYN: Resurgence in antisemitism may lead to second Holocaust
by Joanne Hill. THE JEWISH TRIBUNE
TORONTO – Western society is complicit in a resurgence of antisemitism that may lead to a second Holocaust, for which humankind will have no excuses, warned Mark Steyn.
“There is something profoundly wicked in the contortions that Europeans are willing to make with respect to their own complicated history with the Jewish people,” said Steyn. “We are on the verge of the biggest, most disgusting and evil event of all, in part because of the complicity of the West.”
About 1,000 people filled the sanctuary at Holy Blossom Temple last week to hear the best-selling author and political commentator in conversation with Dr. Elliott Malamet, founder of Torah in Motion and associate professor of Jewish Education at York University.

There has been much talk in Palestine about emigration, especially among the young people…in search of a better life abroad. Many are continuing to rush to the gates of the embassies and consulates… with requests for visas in order to reside permanently in those countries.

(Reuters) – Egyptian prosecutors and police raided offices of 17 pro-democracy and human rights groups on Thursday – drawing criticism from the United States which hinted it could review its $1.3 billion in annual military aid.
The official MENA news agency said the groups had been searched in an investigation into foreign funding.
“The public prosecutor has searched 17 civil society organizations, local and foreign, as part of the foreign funding case,” MENA cited the prosecutor’s office as saying. “The search is based on evidence showing violation of Egyptian laws including not having permits.”

Israel may soon take in a highly unexpected immigrant. Aisha Gadhafi, the daughter of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, who was killed in October after a nine-month uprising against his regime, may seek political asylum in Israel if she is allowed to enter, the Walla Israeli news website reported on Wednesday. It was quoting the French intelligence website Intelligence Online.
Aisha Gadhafi fled Libya during the violent uprising against her father, and went to Algeria with her mother, two other siblings and other relatives.
The report said she recently told friends in Europe with whom her family had close personal and business ties that she may ask the Israeli government for political asylum because of concerns that her Algerian hosts could buckle under pressure from Libya’s new rulers and extradite her to stand trial in her home country.

On December 21, the New York Times? published an article by reporter Scott Shane titled “In Islamic Law, Gingrich Sees Mortal Threat to U.S.” The article tried to subtlety discredit Gingrich and others talking about the Islamist agenda in the U.S., twice stating that “many scholars” feel the threat is being overblown and it is “roundly rejected” by most experts.
The Times opens up with some of Gingrich’s quotes, such as when he called Sharia a “mortal threat.”
“Stealth jihadis use political, cultural, societal, religious, intellectual tools; violent jihadis use violence. But in fact they’re both engaged in jihad, and they’re both seeking to impose the same end state, which is to replace Western civilization with a radical imposition of Shariah,” Gingrich says.
Gingrich’s warning is then characterized as a “much-disputed thesis in vogue with some conservative thinkers but roundly rejected by many American Muslims, scholars of Islam and counterterrorism officials.” Those warning about the Islamist threat within the U.S. are thus depicted as being part of a political fringe without credibility. The Obama administration wants Israel to release arch-terrorist Marwan Barghouti so he can run for election.
By Gavriel Queenann, INN
The Obama administration is trying to convince Israel to release arch-terrorist and mass-murderer Marwan Barghouti.
According to the Hamas-aligned Al Quds daily, Washington views Barghouti as its preferred candidate for Fatah to field against Hamas in Palestinian Authority (PA) elections in May 2012.
“A high-profile US delegation has regularly discussed with officials in Tel Aviv the option to free Al Barghouti to lead Fatah against Hamas in the next elections,” the sources that the daily did not identify, said.

Op-ed: World should not allow Arab effort to deny Jewish connection to Jerusalem
Giulio Meotti, YNET
It’s the site where humanity received the gift of one God. It’s where God’s “shechina”, or presence, dwelt. Even the secular imagination, Jewish or not, has been shaped by the “Holy of Holies,” the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, the most sacred site of the Jewish people.
It’s there that King David raised a sanctuary for the Ark of the Covenant and King Solomon and Herod built the Temples. This holy place – not Shenkin Street, Jerusalem’s Rehavia neighborhood, or Herzliya Pituach’s high-tech hub – prompted the Jews’ return to their land after two millennia of dispersion and pogroms.

Just take a look at these recent medical achievements. Researchers from Israel’s Technion and Rambam medical centre are the first in the world to create new blood vessels using pre-programmed embryonic stem cells. These cells can be produced from heart patients to
treat cardiovascular diseases without fear of being rejected by their immune systems. In another breakthrough, scientists from Jerusalem’s Hebrew University have genetically engineered the “evil” tobacco plant to produce artemisinin – a natural compound that produces large numbers of
anti-malaria drugs. Combating malaria is a United Nations Millennium Development goal. Some 250 million new malaria cases occur each year, causing nearly a million deaths.

Optimism is dangerous
Israelis, and Jews more generally, are better served by healthy pessimism
Historical and Investigative Research - 29 December 2011
by Francisco Gil-White
More than ever, Israelis, and Jews more generally, should beware of “friends” who tell them not to worry, that everything is going to be fine. Everything will not be fine. However it happens, things are going to get ugly. The only question is whether Israelis, and Jews more generally, will wake up in time and prevail.
At HIR we have been arguing with our usual vehemence that things are not going well for Israel. In particular, we have warned that the “Arab Spring” bodes nothing but great trouble:
“Here comes the Muslim Brotherhood”
And yet I must have missed something because yesterday Conrad Black published an opinion editorial in the New York Sun titled: “Israel’s Prospects Have Never Been Brighter, As Arab Spring Fades Into Winter of Discontent.”[1] This was immediately republished on Israpundit to cheery acclaim. I am very busy, but this made me angry.
See what Gil-White had to say here.
Thousands of Others Unreported
Atlas Shrugs
These thousands of women whose cases go unreported are not just the victims of the fathers and brothers whom they fear. They are also the victims of Western apathy and silence, and it’s only getting worse. Almost no one in the dinosaur media talks about honor killing. All those loud-mouthed charlatans talk big when excoriating and trashing those who fight for these women and recognize their plight, but they cower when forced to report on Islam. Instead, they search for benign euphemisms for this most brutal and ugly ideology.
Thus as the Islamic supremacists, the leftist apologists, and useful idiots continue to obfuscate the truth behind these terrible honor murders and attacks, Muslims who engage in such practices are sanctioned by society at large. As the West bows to Islamic supremacism, it’s the women and children, who in Sharia states are nothing more than chattel, who suffer the brunt of it. Our silence, and in effect complicity, has consequences. Honor killings in the West are on the rise.

Oh Allah, count their numbers, and kill them, down to the very last one.”

Well, it seems the Obama team lately was running short of things over
which to bash Israel and so it decided that the treatment of women in
Israel is something that needs condemnation. Led by Hillary Clinton,
the Obama administration thinks that Israel does not treat its women
nicely or respectfully enough. This is the same Hillary Clinton who
never had much to say about the treatment of women in the Clinton
White House. Other administration bashers of Israel joined the feeding
frenzy.
This is the same Obama team that rarely has had anything to say about
the treatment of women in the Muslim world, without a doubt the very
worst such treatment that can be found on the planet. Hillary
insisted that Israel’s treatment of women is as bad as that in Iran,
although Obama people do not exactly speak out against the treatment
of women in Iran before breakfast each day. Hillary also used the
same opportunity to condemn Israel for considering the adoption of
transparency laws that would require disclosure of foreign funding to
political NGOs operating inside Israel, laws that are similar to what
the United States and many other democratic countries already have.
After all, how will those who desire Israel’s annihilation be able to
finance picayune treasonous radical anti-Israel propaganda NGOs inside
Israel if such transparency ever takes effect?

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas kicked off preparations for a fresh outbreak of anti-Israel “resistance” – which concerned US and Israeli security circles believe will develop into “Intifada No. 3″ – Tuesday, Dec. 27, by suddenly firing, the West Bank’s top security officer Maj. Gen. Diab el-Ali. He did not notify US Lt. Gen. Michael R. Moeller, the American Security Coordinator between Israel and the PA appointed by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Israel’s military coordinator, Maj. Gen. Eitan Dangot, of this step which caught them unawares.
Palestinian military intelligence chief, Maj. Gen. Nidal Dokhan, was appointed to replace Maj. Gen. el-Ali.

The Palestinian Authority’s (PA) president, Mahmoud Abbas, went to the UN General Assembly in September, seeking recognition for a Palestinian state — a request that was not only unilateral in breach of UN Security Council Resolutions 242 and 838. In response, three congressional committees blocked $200 million in aid to the Palestinian Authority, a move the PA described as “collective punishment” — although it is hard to understand why it does not consider firing thousands of rockets at civilians in Israeli villages “collective punishment.”

Beinisch’s bombshell
Moshe Dann, JPOST
Claims that Jews have stolen and built on “private Palestinian land” should not be decided by politically motivated individuals and advocacy groups.
Supreme Court President Dorit Beinisch’s decision on September 12 broke sharply with traditional interpretations of law, yet the media largely ignored it.
In a case brought by Peace Now against the Binyamin neighborhoods (“outposts”) of Hayovel – where Maj. Eliraz Peretz’s widow and children live – in Eli, and Harisha, in the Talmonim bloc, Beinisch directed the state – i.e., the Civil Administration for Judea and Samaria – to determine what constitutes state land. According to her ruling, all land not specifically designated as “state land” would henceforth be considered “private [Palestinian] land.”
