ZOA Praises House for Passing it
NEW YORK, May 11, 2012 — The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) strongly praised the House of Representatives for passing the U.S.-Israel Enhanced Security Cooperation Act (H.R. 4133) by an almost unanimous vote. The bi-partisan bill was introduced by Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) and Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD), and passed by a vote of 411-2. Voting against were Rep. John Dingell, (D-MI) and Rep, Ron Paul (R-TX).
Nine members did not vote for the bill, but simply voted ‘PRESENT,” including Earl Blumenauer (D-OR), André Carson (D-IN), Donna Edwards (D-MD), Keith Ellison (D-MN), Walter Jones (R-NC), Barbara Lee (D-CA), Betty McCollum (D-MN), Pete Stark (D-CA) and Lynn Woolsey (D-CA). The U.S. Senate is considering similar legislation that is sponsored by Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-GA), along with 32 co-sponsors so far. AIPAC and ZOA’s Government Relations Department have been engaged in both houses in educating members about issues relating to Israel’s Defense, and the common threats the US and Israel face in the region.

Egyptian security forces were able to intercept a convoy of three trucks carrying illegal weapons en route to the Sinai Peninsula, Ynet learned Thursday.
According to Egyptian media, the arms shipment, which included surface-to-surface and anti-tank missiles, as well as RPG rockets, originated from Libya and was bound for the area between El-Arish and Rafah.
An Egyptian security source added that the trucks were stopped as part of a routine, random security check on vehicles travelling their route.

(JERUSALEM POST OP-ED) By ZVI MAZEL – The writer is a former ambassador to Egypt 05/10/12)
Cancelling the sale of Egyptian gas to Israel has not made much difference to the security situation in the Sinai peninsula. According to reports in the daily Al-Masry Al-Youm, there have been more than 50 attacks against police installations since the beginning of the revolution – as well as 14 successful sabotage operations against the pipeline bringing Egyptian gas to Israel and an assault on the command post controlling the pipeline carried out a few days before the cancellation.
The government is trying to put together a master plan to improve the lot of the mostly Beduin population. However many years will be needed to implement these worthy goals. Palestinian terrorist organizations – some affiliated with al- Qaida – are not waiting. They are busy infiltrating Beduin society, setting up local cells to smuggle arms to the Gaza strip and attack Egyptian security forces. So far the response of the Cairo authorities has been muted, leaving army and police helpless against the relentless onslaught.

Special report: Irish journalist slams silence of politicians in face of ‘group anti-Semitism’ mindset; says that in Ireland either one obeys anti-Israel orders of left-wing mind-thugs, or one is lynched

The most serious event of the past week wasn’t related to Prime Time’s libel of Father Kevin Reynolds, and it wasn’t what Cardinal Sean Brady did or didn’t do nearly 40 years ago. Far more serious than either for the health of this Republic – though connected to both by a sanctimonious tissue of lethal intolerance – was the intimidation of the band Dervish into cancelling a tour of Israel.

Resplendent in her royal blue hijab for an official appearance in Bangladesh on Sunday, Hillary Clinton proclaimed that she was deeply hurt by charges brought forth at a public forum that the United States was biased against Muslims.
“It hurts me so much,” Clinton lamented. “It’s a painful perception to hear about, and I deeply regret that anyone believes that or propagates it.”
Even for a woman who had no trouble during her husband’s tenure as president consorting with the father of modern terrorism, Yasser Arafat and his wife, Suha — recipient of the famous Clinton kiss — it is a remarkable statement. Hillary Clinton voiced no public distress over the findings of the last FBI report on religious hate crimes in the United States, which revealed that the overwhelming majority of hate crimes — 72% — target Jews, compared to just 8.4% for Muslims and 6.4% for Christians. Meanwhile, in the Indian subcontinent, Mrs. Clinton also failed to address the decades of oppression and massacres suffered by the Hindus of Bangladesh at the hands of Muslims and the abject discrimination, extortion, and threats that remain rampant today.

Why are Jewish groups that attempt to inflict economic damage on Israelis through BDS and blacken Israel’s image given a place in the Israel Day Parade? They have crossed a line, why are we letting them get away with it?
The Celebrate Israel Parade on June 3rd is a joyous event for the New York Jewish community, when we demonstrate our love and support of Israel. So why are organizations dedicated to destroying Israel’s economy through boycotts, divestment and sanctions (BDS) being given the privilege of marching with us?
One of these groups is openly organizing a boycott against targeted Israeli companies, including Ahava Cosmetics. Others have supported the infamous Goldstone Report, and funded organizations that urged Norway to divest from Israel.
